AMI Mediterranean Xpress

My family and I have been coming to Anna Maria island for 3 years now. Somehow I didn’t discover this place until the third year but gosh I wish I would’ve discovered it sooner because it’s seriously my favorite food on the island. Super quick, super easy, and seriously delicious. I don’t normally write reviews but I had a bowl from here the first night getting to AMI and after that, I had it 4 more times before I left just recently. I wish they had this place where I live in Maryland, I’d be getting it all the time. Honestly great quality food, very nice staff and quick and easy. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

I get the bowl with yellow rice, beef, and a bunch of toppings. I get both the hummus’s(chickpea and eggplant) and then for sauces I get tzatziki sauce and garlic sauce. Get whatever toppings but the hummus’s and the sauces yellow rice and beef are superior!

After a beautiful evening at Anna Maria Island, we started feeling hungry on our way back home, so we searched for nearby options and found AMI Mediterranean Xpress.

We were lucky to find parking right in front of the restaurant and explored their menu, which offered a variety of bowls, salads, and sandwiches.

We decided to order the Chicken Shawarma Bowl. It was ready in just 10 minutes, made with fresh and delicious ingredients.

The bowl was flavorful and satisfying; my wife and I shared it and absolutely loved the food.

I got the beef schwarma and my husband got a lamb gyro. Both were good. We just wanted a quick lunch and this did the trick!

This part of the island needed a restaurant like this! Food is great, it’s like a Mediterranean Chipotle. They even had cauliflower rice for all you gym rats. Owner/staff are very friendly, I will be coming back!

Disappointed in the quality of the food. Very little flavor at all in the Tzatziki sauce. Tasted like plain yogurt. Also didn’t realize how limited seating was until we arrived so we had to get it all to go. Not a place to take a family of 5 or more at meal times.

The food and service here is fantastic!!! One of the absolute best meals we had on the island. Staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. Great place for lunch or dinner! Highly recommend!!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ami Mediterranean Express, and I can't say enough good things about this charming, family-owned gem. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and genuine friendliness by the family running the place. Their hospitality truly sets them apart.

The chicken shawarma was absolutely fantastic—juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. It’s clear they put a lot of love and care into their dishes. I also tried one of their bowls, and it was equally impressive. Fresh ingredients, vibrant flavors, and generous portions make it a meal to remember.
