I rarely leave a bad review, especially to a restaurant with friendly service, but this may be the worst food I've ever had. I'm not sure if I'm keeping down the little bit I was able to eat. I've never had fried rice that I had to douse in soy sauce like that just to make it edible. And the age of the chicken is questionable at best. This restaurant needs an injection of funding to revamp both its menu and the quality of the food. I appreciate that they're keeping the menu prices low, especially given the location, but this place is one slow season away from going bankrupt, because the locals aren't coming by. 1) Reduce the menu size 2) significantly increase the quality of the food 3) increase prices to reflect 4) abandon everything that was done before except for the friendly service.

China 1 0 STAR RATING. Any Chinese take out would make money here. One with decent fresh food would make a lot of money. If consistency in retail food service is the winning key, it has to be good food. 20 years of having to drive 40 mins each way to to get off island for decent Chinese take out, when there is the the only one sad option on Anna Maria Island. Holmes Beach city rules allow only one. SERVICE Service was fast. AMBIANCE Ambiance was horrible and dirty. I ordered take out quart of $9.75 seafood soup. Only seafood soup option. FOOD There are four 1/4" slices of imitation crab in the quart. NO OTHER SEAFOOD! Not even one shrimp. No fish, no scallops, no nothing. Just old chewy veggies and corn starch chicken broth. There is a bated tip jar, I suggest you tip a dollar for the children working there and not order. It's a win win!

It was the only place that opened late in the area we stayed. Food was delicious. We had the sweet and sour chicken, shrimp lo mein, and pepper steak. It was a hit with everyone. We ordered online and picked up at restaurant. The lady didn't speak much English but very sweet.

Absolutely the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Nothing tastes fresh. Soggy veggies over cooked and boiled in gravy. Couldn't finish it. I can't believe they have survived all these years serving that slop.

China 1 is not high end Chinese cooking. It is perfectly serviceable, middle of the road. You have to take care in what you order. For example, I haven’t t had it, but I wouldn’t go there looking for Peking duck, or a special shellfish dish, but everything I’ve had has been pretty tasty. Their fried rice is good. I liked their shredded pork Sichuan style, their moo shu, and once when I had a cold, their hot and sour soup and egg foo young hit the spot. What do you want? It’s a small island in Florida. Ands it so much better than that place that finally closed up at the Island Shopping Center. Now THAT food was terrible!

No English! At all! Whatsoever... I called in to place an order and asked a single simple question (is the price the same without rice) and after 10 minutes she still couldn't understand lol. Never been annoyed as much before so just gave up and got Greek food.
