This is the best kept secret it's been hiding for 25 years and I'm very upset because I could have been eating here for 25 years and it's my first time here. The services absolutely unbelievable and this is true German food. I am absolutely coming back again and again and again

Was one of our favorite places when visiting AMI but this last visit was a let down - they didnt have soup or bread and only 1 out of 2 deserts.

Favorite restaurant on the island! Gary is the man!
Pretty good food. I tried the pork schnitzel with mushroom and onions and it was good, nothing great. My wife tried chicken schnitzel with tomato and cheese. She liked it but nothing special. I thought her cheese wasn't very good. The service was a little slow because there was only one waitress.

First off there was one person taking orders, and the cook helped serve the tables. I grew up in a German home and area and have eaten in many German restaurants and the food was terrible. I've never has flat pork schnitzel that all I could taste was the breading. Even my teens who know what good German food is like weren't happy. This place needs to hire help and rethink their menu, portions etc. or close

The service and food was horrendous! Unrecognizable Jaegerschnitzel with glutenous mushroom gravy, fake yellow spatzle with zero flavor and over sweetened red cabbage. Hard pass!

Unfortunately I can't give any recommendations for this restaurant!
The two of us were there for dinner on June 2nd, 2024.
It immediately became apparent that at 7 p.m. the entire restaurant was completely empty.
We both ordered the Wiener Schnitzel, which was at the table after about seven minutes.
The schnitzel was actually the best thing on the plate, although unfortunately it was in some kind of gravy. Unfortunately, the red cabbage was extremely spiced with cinnamon and the spaetzle was somewhat flavorless
!
I paid the bill with my credit card. The invoice amount was shown to me in the app as 68.30 euros, but 81.97 euros was debited.
So the difference will be the tip, which is an absolute disgrace considering the quality of the food and the friendliness of the waitress!

We are out of state but when we would come to Anna Maria Island for vacation we always loved coming here for dinner. I’m originally from Germany so I know what the food is suppose to taste like. Unfortunately this time around it was horrible. Not only the food but the waitress with the purple hair was very unfriendly. She needs to find a different job because she obviously hates her current one. It’s really sad, my family loved coming here in years past, but it’s definitely NOT what it used to be.

The service is just unfriendly and rude.
When we entered the restaurant we waited for 10 minutes for someone sit us down. Finely we got table and woman with purple hair threw the menu on our table, didn’t even say anything and left.
It was so rude. Seems like they don't want anybody there.

We have loved this restaurant, and Gary, over the past three years or more. It was excellent until this March of 2024, when we weren't respected when we entered. The waitress was rude enough that we left. It's a shame. So, visiting here is either excellent, if Gary is present, or unpleasant, and unreliable.

The Jaeger schnitzel was thin and overcooked with canned mushroom gravy. The sauerbraten was good .The spaetzel were a strange yellow color and was tasteless .
