This place is terrible I put no shrimps in the comments because I’m allergic and they still ended up putting shrimp. Then when i ask for more sauce the lady walk away, and the other worker had to get me the sauce. Took every thing not to cus that lady out

Today was my first time visiting Shanghai and Tokyo Chinese Restaurant, and unfortunately, I left disappointed.
The woman at the front with the short bob hairstyle was not very pleasant—in fact, she came off as quite dismissive. The way my order was handled felt careless, almost personal.
That said, the food itself was surprisingly good. I ordered the special fried rice with chicken wings, and both were flavorful. The egg roll was especially delicious.
Still, the poor customer service really took away from the experience. I understand that working long hours can be stressful, but how you represent your business matters—especially when interacting with first-time customers.
I assume it’s a family-owned establishment, but there’s definitely room for improvement on the customer service front. Because of the way I was treated, I didn’t leave a tip. I simply wasn’t impressed by the hospitality.
That said, I might give it another try just for the food—it was easily top 5. But based on today’s experience, I can only give 2 stars.

I have ordered from here before but it seems to be getting worse. The fried rice had no taste whatsoever. Gosh were is the seasoning flavor??? Horrible! I’m done with this place now.

I am very disappointed with my most recent order. My order was the lunch special since I did not want the pork fried rice, I asked for egg fried rice instead. To my surprise and disappointment there was an additional charge of $2.50. When questioned the charge, was advised due the price of eggs. My husband went next door to Publix and check the price of a carton of eggs at $6.73 for 18 large eggs. Now just to confirm, I’m paying for one egg when buying 18 eggs it’s $.38 an egg. Talk about price gauging…needless to stay after 7 years of being a customer, we have decided to boycott and never return. Shanghai and Tokyo, you should inform your customers of any additional charges so as a consumer we are aware of the price we chose to pay. This is not cool!!!

I normally don’t give bad reviews because anybody could have a bad day, but I don’t allow nobody disrespect me. I stopped by to pick up an already paid meal and I was waiting longer than supposed to. The crew in the front desk. were having a long conversation and they know I was waiting for my food. when suddenly my meal was already seating on the side so when the lady handed it to me, I made a complaint about it so she picked up the food back from me and told me do not take the food. The other coworker handed food back to me and I left . Very disrespectful people and bad customer service. .

It seems that Chinese-speaking customers are treated differently here, which is disappointing given that both the owner and staff are Chinese. I would recommend avoiding speaking Chinese to ensure better service. So pathetic.

Called to order food and get the price of the different sizes and the guy yelled at me rudely . Telling me to go look online and hung the phone up on me . So I went inside thinking it was a miscommunication and he was even ruder in person . Telling me he’s busy he has other customers. Excuse me sir ? You’re running a business I’m no less of importance to any other customer. I’m paying you not getting anything for free . He also told me to get out . If I have a question about your prices why is it such a problem to give me that . Would never again spend my dollar where it is not appreciated.

I didn't like the rice very much, reheated, this food that goes one day, doesn't come back again, I didn't like it, everything is served super hot and the rice is a little old, I didn't like the reheating, good luck to anyone else.

Worst food we have ever had !!! Save your money better if you waste your money at McDonald’s or Pollo tropical or even Subway right next to it ! The food was super dry like if it was old rice that was just reheated or not cooked correctly!! Hope that this saves a family from wasting money for your family to only have to go out and get them something else because it was that bad !!!
