I wish we had this restaurant where we live. Brisket sandwiches were perfect and the sides are homemade. Country atmosphere but not hokey.

It’s going to be noisy in the restaurant. Accept that. Difficult to carry on a conversation. And not a fan of their extended picnic style seating . But the food is really good and service is friendly and prompt. Maybe a to-go order?

If you like ribs, this is the place! Literally, “falling off the bone” and delicious. Better than Shorty’s and Flanagan without a doubt. The ambience is typical ribs restaurant, but you don’t go there for ambience. Pleasant help, prompt service. A bit expensive for the type of venue. Recommended.

The BBQ beans are amazing, nice meat pieces. All the ribs were great, sauces are amazing. The pulled pork is little light on flavor but with the sauces it was delicious as well.

I was looking forward to eat here after reading great reviews. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Brisket was almost cold, mainly fat and very bland. I wouldn't recommend this place.
Ordered to go and the to go waitress was so nice. Helped us decide what to order and gave us several sauces to try. I had the 1/4 chicken with mashed potatoes and hash brown casserole. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich with fries and slaw. We wanted to try the okra and some desserts too so we ordered salted caramel cheesecake and key lime pie. Everything we had was fantastic and we have some left for lunch tomorrow!

Shiver's is, at this point, the best place to get barbeque if you live in Miami. Yeah... You have to go to Homestead if you want good barbeque. Worth it.
Update: Still worth it. Whole smoked chicken takes a while to make so order ahead. I mean it's a to-go thing but I unno, I ate it at a park. This isn't pertinent information.

I agree with many of these lower reviews. This place has gone downhill since the last time I was here and way worse from the first time I was here. The burnt ends were mostly FAT. The baby back ribs, just no love and just wasn't imo, quality meat nor tasted that fresh. The sides were fine though my girlfriend had a hush puppy that was inedible. The brisket, ehhhh. Just like I said, no love, no apparent care and little integrity.
