The food is always as I remember it as a child growing up in a Puerto Rican household. Great sangrias also.

Cuban Island Restaurant offers delicious Cuban food, with the Vaca Frita being a standout dish. Customers praise the great service and recommend trying the passion fruit mojito. The parking is convenient, and it is a kid-friendly place. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere with a tropical vibe, dim lighting, and good music that is loud enough to enjoy but not overpowering. The food is cooked perfectly and seasoned well, with fried items like ropa vieja and Picadillo served delicately. Guests often enjoy the appetizer sampler, including chicken and beef empanadas, ham croquettes, yuca fries, and Cuban bread with onion sauce. The mojitos, especially the coconut mojito with coconut shavings, are highly praised, and the overall experience is considered one of the best Cuban meals around. The owner is appreciated for delivering flavorful dishes in a cozy setting, making Cuban Island a must-visit for those seeking authentic Cuban cuisine. Visitors also enjoy live acoustic guitar music, which adds to the friendly atmosphere. Many mention the guava cheesecake as amazing and recommend this small, local joint over franchise restaurants. The service is friendly, and the drinks are strong enough to make guests smile. Overall, Cuban Island Restaurant provides an enjoyable, authentic Cuban dining experience with flavorful food and a warm, tropical vibe.
