This is a small but dim lighted bar and restaurant giving off a tropical vibe. I had the appetizer sampler - chicken and a beef empanada, ham croquettes, yuca fries, ropa vieja and Piccadillo with a garlic sauce on the side. We also ordered a coconut mojito and a bistec empanisada. For dessert we took a guava cheesecake and a vanilla flan to go. They also bought Cuban bread to the table with an onion sauce that tasted like onions on a NY hot dog. food was hands down perfect....
We ate here twice on our Florida trip (arrival/departure) and both times it was really excellent. By far the best meal of the trip and definitely in the top 5% of my experiences in the USA. We had Cubanos the first time. Today shrimp ceviche and the catch of the day (red snapper). This was the best fish preparation I've had in a long time. Perfectly grilled and a huge piece of fish.
Food is tasty and service is nice EXCEPT that without warning they charge $3 for a seltzer water from the fountain; a RIPOFF! Other restaurants provide that water for free. So we won't be doing that again.
