I'm very particular about smoked mullet, mainly because so many places dry it out during their smoking process. Well, I tried the smoke mullet Brooks sells. Simply put, it was quite amazing. A nice smoked flavor, seasoned wonderfully, flaky, and definitely not dried out. They only had the regular smoked mullet, and I wanted to try both regular and BBQ. Few bones to pick out, which is normal for smoked mullet, but not an excessive amount like I've found at other places....
Wow. Been wanting to visit since we moved to Ocala. Very happy. The seafood display is impressive and they expertly filleted our red snapper giving us two large filets that will make two meals for us at a really excellent price. Clearly very fresh seafood. They had fresh oysters for less than $1 each, gulf/Key West shrimp, a variety of spices and sauces, Dungeness crab, you name it. About 30 miles from On Top of the World Ocala and well worth the trip.
Fresh fish right off the boat, you can buy it whole or they will fillet for you. We cooked the fish in the grill and it was amazing
Very Clean!
Will be back to try the food truck, it was a Monday and they don't open Monday.
