ACCORDING TO THE SIGN that it is FOR SALE......and the owners' response that they have had a fire in DECEMBER, ....and they are moving to a new location, I would have to think THIS PLACE IS (PERMANENTLY) CLOSED.
If the owners are opening somewhere else
I might suggest they put a SIGN explaining that to passers by.

I've been eating here for about 3 years. Nevere had anything I didn't enjoy. Ribs fall off the bone pork moist and tender chicken. I eat here at least 1 or two times a month sometimes more. Wish they had breakfast.

I ordered a double cheese burger rare, egg rolls, fried mushrooms and pork quaesadia. The waitress was rude and impatient with my family member who's disabled. They refused to cook the burger to our likings, when they done it before even with the new management. When the waitress brought the mushrooms to the table she tossed them at the table..I bit my tongue, so she then began to sit down the egg rolls , rolled her eyes and didn't bother telling my family that they just came out the fries. He went to take a bite and burned his mouth. When we told the waitress about it she did nothing. She went back to the food window and was telling the other workers what happened and they all stood up there laughing about the whole thing. Not a very good business like thing they did. I won't be back at all..

We travel to Gainsville 3 days per week from St. Augustine and we saw the signs for Hog Wild and finally decided to stop. Best decision! The burgers are excellent, good portions for the price, excellent service and not too far off the main road, we will stop here again and again.

We stopped in to the Hog wild country cafe in November 2024. It is located in a rural area which could be described as out in the middle of nowhere. I loved it. I love rural country type places. Hog wild country cafe is basically as BBQ eatery. But it is similar to a Cracker Barrel country store in a lot of ways. But I would describe it as a more so country store and with a more male influenced decor.
It is by no means a fancy place. It’s more of a down home country establishment, with everything one would expect. So if that’s what you like, this is your spot. I enjoy BBQ, but do not have it all that frequently. As such, I tend to enjoy it more when I have it. I had a really good brisket sandwich and fries. It was really good. It was reasonably priced.
It was fairly quiet when we visited. Sometimes it pays to avoid the busy times. The staff were all very nice and made our visit enjoyable. Hog wild country cafe is really about the BBQ, but they offer a variety for folks who may not want BBQ. They did tell us that they do not offer the steaks at lunch time. But they have other items besides BBQ for lunch.
As I said earlier, they are kind of like a Cracker Barrel, so things decorate the walls and ceiling, with many for sale. There is available back porch seating if you so choose. And it looks like there is an area out back for larger country events.
Hog wild country cafe is just a nice country place that fits the bill for me. It’s not in a crowded city environment. Folks get to be comfortable in comfortable clothes. And there’s lot’s of fun stuff to check out a purchase if you so choose. Then add the fact that the food is very good and a fair price. It’s all that I need, without a lot of the things that I don’t at a lot of other eateries.
I don't give out five stars all that often. But the combination of the food and atmosphere just works for me. So five stars it is. Without a doubt, I will be back.

Parking: It is not the largest parking lot, but probably does the job. It's mostly a dirt or gravel parking area with some pavement.
