Have been here multiple times and the service is always terrible. Staff always seemed annoyed you are there. One time I went with a big order read it off and grabbed some of the remaining pastries. I specifically pointed at the last pastry and said I wanted it. A lady came from the back I thought she was going to help with the big order grabs the pastry I wanted and stuffed it in her mouth and walked to the back right in front of me. The cashier tried to gaslight me saying there wasn’t even a pastry there. Never going back been there 5x and each time is worse than the other.

Amazing food and great staff. Everything was so fresh and the dining room in the back makes you feel like your on vacation. Can't wait to go back and try everything I didn't try the first time. Feels like you're at your Aunts house honestly.

I had such a pleasant experience at 1928 Cuban Bistro. The food was fantastic. My girlfriend and I shared the empanadas, and the steak sandwich I had was to die for. The staff was gracious and created a welcoming experience for us. I WILL be coming back, and I would recommend this to all my friends and family!

A wonderful experience. The service is warm, attentive, and speedy, and the atmosphere is excellent. I was also blown away by the Pan Con Bistec. My wife and I each ordered it and we can't wait to order it again when we return to Jacksonville. The coffee was terrific as well. 5 stars!!!

Stopped by last week for the first time and was thoroughly impressed. The ropa vieja was incredible, both from a fresh flavor and value perspective, and the cafe con leche was a great added touch. Friendly staff as well - look forward to coming back soon!

The best Cuban Sandwich in town. The best coffee in town. The best pastries in town. If you’re in the area, you have to hit this spot!

I went with my mom and we ordered 6 chicken empanadas, but instead we got 5 plantain empanadas and only 1 chicken, our Cuban sandwich was not even properly toasted 😒 do they not know how a Cuban sandwich is supposed to come out? What we got was soggy bread with pork, oh and the coffees? They shouldn’t even be called “café con leche” anymore they should be called “milk with a tiny splash of coffee.” SMH

This used to be my favorite restaurant, but unfortunately everything has gone downhill the new staff at the front are not trained at all, not even in providing basic customer service. We truly miss the three girls who used to work there they always offered exceptional service and knew exactly what they were doing. Now it feels like making mistakes has become the new specialty. Even something as simple as an order of empanadas gets messed up. On top of that, the coffee tastes more like milk with a splash of coffee, which is very disappointing. If you’re going to get rid of the team that actually knew how to do things right, the least you could do is properly train the people you’re hiring to replace them.

My husband and I used to come here every Saturday to enjoy a good cup of coffee, but over the past few weeks everything has completely changed. The service and the quality of the coffee have gone down, and they’ve even gotten our order wrong more than once. The people working at the front don’t seem to know how to make a proper coffee, maybe more training?? Sadly, we’ll probably start going somewhere else cause the vibe here seems off. Please bring back the red-haired barista—she really knew what she was doing.

The service here is a complete disaster lately. The only good barista they had is no longer there, and it really shows. The fact that there are new employees every single week speaks volumes about the place — it’s a clear sign of poor management or bad pay. Definitely not a place I’d recommend.

Ordered 2 Cuban sandwiches & frijoles negros
Barely average
They weren’t pressed, they were just average pork sandwiches, not bad, not good
Won’t be going back
If I want a delicious authentic Cuban sandwich, I’ll go back to Miami
