Holy smokes we found it!!! Authentic Mexican food like we had back in MI!! And at normal prices!!! We have been disappointed since moving to Jax Beach area last year that all the Mexican places were “fancy” - weird, elaborate dishes that cost way too much for what they are. This place is amazing- the food was perfect, service was fantastic, and the total bill was under $20 for lunch for the two of us (before tip). Chips were crispy and the salsa was perfectly spicy and super flavorful. We will definitely be back - the lunch specials are exactly what we are used to from MI days (hello speedy gonzales!) 5 plus stars, highly recommend!

Christian took care of us for our 30 year anniversary, it was our first time there. He was very attentive, very friendly, and the margaritas were excellent. Food was excellent ??

This might be best Mexican restaurant in Jax Beach and surrounding area. I have lived here over 25 years. I go to many in the area but keep coming back here. Service is excellent. Only gripe is margaritas are hit or miss. Kinda bartender by committee. Never just a constant bartender.

Always a great place to come and eat! There are two servers here that always remember us. We got take out and it’s always great! I love sitting at the bar and shooting the stuff with other locals. This place has been around a long time and my wife remembers coming here since she was a kid. Thanks El Porto and keep being you and what you do. I don’t care what other people say!

Let's start with the positive. Very friendly service. Horrible food. I'm serious when I write I'm not sure it was really beef - strange taste, strange texture, no seasoning whatsoever. I'm not sure what it was except inedible. Flan was dense, almost certainly from a mix and certainly not fresh. This place has gone way downhill since our last visit there 6 months ago or so. Very disappointing.To Reyana - Thanks for your response. Stuff happens. I live in Orlando, so I can't come by and watch you make flan - but it might be fun to do, although know how to make it. My best to you and your staff.

The service is good. The tacos are authentic Mexican style. Though, carnitas were dip fried which was weird. So many places now do that, it is a shame. Not everything on our plates has to be fried.

Very broad menu options including for vegetarians. Food has often been pretty good but our recent visit on Mar 29 was so disappointing that our waiter had to apologize several times. One person's dinner in our party of 6 was brought out about 8 minutes after all the others and it was the simplest (a quesadilla); one dinner was cold; and the carnitas dinner was so tough that it was not chewable and even hard to cut. For us regulars it was unpleasant since we brought my wife's family when they visited us.We are less motivated to try it again but we may
