Tasty taco truck with bold flavors, but a bit pricey for what you get.
Jalapeño Express is a small food truck parked in a dental office lot, with a few casual tables nearby and a speaker strapped to the truck for ambiance. It's a one-person operation, so service can be a bit slow, but the food feels authentically made with care.
We ordered the 2 burritos, 2 tacos, and a drink deal. Burritos are medium-sized, comparable to Chipotle, and while one is enough for me, the full combo would just satisfy a bigger appetite. The burritos were a bit soggy and could’ve been more generously filled. The tacos were the stars — palm-sized but packed with flavor. The tripa taco was perfectly fatty and crispy, while the lengua was soft and flavorful. I'd come back for the tacos over the burritos.
Drinks are self-serve from a cooler in front of the truck. There are two self-serve salsas — a fresh green one and a spicier red; I preferred the red for its kick.
Price-wise, it's on the higher end for a taco truck, which might be a drawback for some. Still, the taste delivers. If you're not in a rush and want a casual, no-frills taco stop with strong flavors, Jalapeño Express is worth trying.
Be aware!!! The food is not what you see in the pics, everything I got it was so small for too expensive food. The quesabirria so small I was expecting the big quesabirria because that’s what I saw in pics. Never come back here! 👎🏻
Gone :(
Ate at one of their food trucks. I had a very enjoyable experience listening to Mexican music while waiting for their steak asada.
These tacos never miss—authentic, flavorful, and always made right. Real Mexican flavor done the right way. You can taste the love in every bite!
Absolutely delicious! I was at the beach looking for a nearby place and found these guys on Google. Placed an order online through grubhub here on the app. When I went to pick it up they were not st this 3rd St address as stated. Called them, they said they are at 14006 Beach Blvd. Ok, that was 13 min away but whatever. When I went to pick it up they had no record of my order. Said they don’t use grubhub. I wondered how I would get my money back. I ended up getting what I ordered, which was adobo taco and el pastor taco w/rice & beans. DELICIOUS! Loved the green sauce and wished I had ordered more. I will be back! Hopefully they fix this Google info though.
I finally had the opportunity to try Jalapeño Express as I often pass by on my way to the gym. I wish I stopped by sooner. The owners are very nice and helpful with recommendations as it was my first time. I tried the steak azada, shrimp, pastor (marinated pork), and chicken tacos. All were muy delicioso! I especially liked the shrimp, pastor and chicken. I can't wait to try more... the birria, barbacoa and shrimp bowl next. I believe they will be adding chicken on its own to the menu, which I will definitely try if it's like the chicken in the taco I had. Highly recommend!
Love the new location on Beach can’t wait to make this a regular place.
They have 2 locations in Jax now. Go to their IG account and see the video. 👍

Delish and so satisfying! I’m a big fan of Mexican foods. My friends offered to try their birra pizzadilla.
Pizzadilla, Karl
And OMG, it was such a great call! Home made tortillas! Wow so Nice and crisp from outside, soft and juicy inside. Generous amount of well cooked meat. Uffff yummy
But one of most important thing in any food servings - garnish and sauces
At this point Jalapeño express on top of that
I had, 4 different sauces. Birra sauce for the pizzadilla HEAVEN, so damn goood. Other sauces are incredible too; mild (orange color), a little spicy (green), and extremely spicy (red). So good!!! Well done guys.
I can tell place is worth it, if I save the sauce left overs for later. Even if there were nothing to save.
Good luck
I’ll come back for edible souvenirs for my husband on my way back to New York

Decided to have dinner here one night during our vacation. The food was pretty good at least for myself and the kids , they had the two tacos with rice and beans included a drink combo and they said it was good. I had the asada torta and it was delicious, we got a asada burrito and four lengua tacos but the lengua tacos looked more like shredded beef and clumped together it was not appetizing. The burrito for $12 if way overpriced for the size and taste it was lacking. Overall food was good but pricing is off.
