We've ordered from this restauarant before and have alwasy been happy with the food quality. This was our first dine in experience and will be the last. We had a table of 9 and restaurant was less than half full. The one server had all the tables in restaurant and he was personable but was not able to keep up with drink and food orders. We were there almost 3 hours ... food took a very long time. The grilled lobster was very overcooked and goat curry was meh. will continue to order delivery but will not be back in person.
I’ve been coming here for years, but learned today that the samosas (labeled vegan) have milk in the dough. They’re labeled vegan along with many other items on the menu. The server mentioned it casually as if a small amount of milk wasn’t a huge deal for a vegan item. This place has completely lost my trust.
When we moved to the area from NYC, we looked everywhere for a really good Indian restaurant. We've tried them all in the greater Jacksonville area; this is THE ONE! Wonderful flavors & fragrance and spice levels! Highly recommend for anyone in need of excellent Indian food in northeast Florida.
The waitress was amazing and hardworking. The bartenders were very slow and appeared to be more interested in chatting with one another and two or three patrons at the bar than serving the entire restaurant. Historically we have loved this restaurant, but the food has been inconsistent on our last two visits and the bar staff has been dreadful.
We've been here before and always liked the food. Service has always been acceptable. Except for last Friday night. Service was atrocious. We waited over an hour for our entrees to arrive. One bread order came out right away along with a few apps we ordered. Apps were warm not hot. Out server was in a permanent state of confusion and kept apologizing for the kitchen but I don't think she had her tables under control. She started out by bringing out the wrong beer and things didn't improve from there. Very disappointed. Will be quite a while before we go back.
Service was really slow even. 30 mins to get our first drink. Food was really good though.
We ordered samosas as our appetizers- they weren't great so don't bother ordering them. I had the steamed veggie potstickers which were alright but would have ordered fries as they were falling apart upon picking them up. I also had the Masala Aloo Gobhi which was not as hot (temperature wise) and wasn't tasty, very bland. My husband has the Chicken tika masala which he said was very good. Thank goodness the garlic naan was delicious because that made me a little happy after the big disappointment with the app and my entree. Based on our experience, we would not be willing to return.
We enjoy dining at Jax Spice. This is the sixth time we've been there over the many years it has been there. We had a table of six and it seemed at first they we're under staffed as we had to wait for at least ten minutes before a server came to our table. After they took our orders, most everything seemed to go smoothly. The atmosphere isn't any bit elegant but the food is great!
We made reservations for 2:30pm through Open Table. I confirmed the reservations the day prior. When we arrived, we were told that they could not seat us that the chef leaves at 2:30 and does not return to 4. There were people seated and eating in the restaurant as they were telling us this. Absolutely horrible customer service! No apologies, nothing. Just too bad, you can't eat here.
The food was delicious and fresh! Ryan was our server and he was extremely helpful and attentive.

Most authentic taste & consistency! Whenever someone asks for an Indian restaurant, I always recommend JaxSpice because it has the iconic recipes of every dish and great for first time visitors.
The naans are thin and unique, I always buy extras even if it’s plain.
I really appreciate they sell just the sauces, I like to add it to home cooked meals and have kids that are picky with meat, especially the curry and butter chicken sauce that go with everything, and I get to save more. The butter chicken is on point.

What a great time tonight! Not only was the food great! My favorite was the lamb meat balls and Veggie samoas! The entrees were really good but the apps were fantastic. But what made the dining experience even better was our server Johanna. Now, she is a ray of sunshine! She was chipper, knowledgeable and on top of everything! She had such a great smile and that’s what you want to see when you go into a restaurant. She is hardworking and eager. She was all the above. The atmosphere was so nice as well, everything was timely and we didn’t have to ask for anything as Johanna was a step ahead!! We look forward to dining here again. Thank you all for a wonderful date night!
