Great place in Jax Beach! Dive bar feel, pool table, metal music. Excellent service and fantastic location! I would definitely recommend checking the place out if you get the chance!

I've been treated terribly by the staff several times, especially towards the end of the night. As the night goes on the bartenders attitudes go downhill fast. But Security is by far the worst part of Mangoes. They'll escalate every encounter no matter how minor, and will straight up assault people for no reason. I'm done with Mangoes.
Also, they claim to close at 2:00 but be prepared for them to close early without warning. And if you're tab isn't closed you're out of luck. They'll kick you out, charge you extra for not closing your tab, and you'll have to come back the next day to get your card back.
I'm also an Uber driver and hear constant complaints similar to mine. I've started discouraging my riders from going to Mangoes.

Do not go to this place the service is absolutely horrible!! The door man was for sure racist he was showing prejudice, discrimination and antagonist against me just because of my name when he saw my identification, I am a Latino /Colombian background. When he saw my identification he said I was drunk when I had not had a single drink. Do not go I can’t believe establishments like this can keep their doors open. You will see multiple reviews of other people experiencing discrimination and racism!! #racism #discrimination #904 #jacksonvillebeach #jaxbeach #mangobeachbar #prejudice #justice

Don’t go here - the security at the front is racist. My husband and I wanted to grab a drink after talking a nice romantic walk on the beach to watch the sunset after having a delicious dinner at European Cafe and the gentleman looked at my husbands ID and because he has a Hispanic name decided he was “drunk” and wouldn’t let us enter. We had not had ANY alcohol to drink as we had just had dinner and taken a walk on the beach. He racially profiled us and refused us to enter. This is a racist establishment.

I had an extremely disappointing and upsetting experience at this bar on the night of my birthday due to the conduct of the woman who runs their karaoke nights. There’s a review from about 6 months ago mentioning her using racial slurs toward patrons, and unfortunately, it seems nothing has changed.

My friend and I (both Black) came in and signed up to sing a song together like everyone else. Over the next 30-60 minutes, we watched the same group of people get multiple turns — some as many as 3-4 — while no new names were called. We remained patient. Eventually, I politely asked where we were in the queue, and was told we were song #19 while they were on #15. I thanked her and waited.

Four or five songs later, those same people got up again, and we still weren’t called. When I respectfully asked to verify our spot again, I was told — incorrectly — they were still on #15. When I calmly pointed out that this didn’t make sense, she became hostile and incredibly inappropriate, raising her voice at me while her daughter joined in, cursing at me as well.

I calmly walked away, but the host then began loudly shouting over the microphone at the entire bar, causing an unnecessary public scene simply because I asked a reasonable question. No rational person would react this way if it were an honest mistake.

Considering the fact that only white patrons were called up to sing (with a few minorities only going up when accompanied by white friends), paired with her known history of using extremely racist, offensive language, it’s very plausible that the way we were treated was racially motivated. At the very least, it was biased and discriminatory behavior.

We left immediately, along with a few other patrons who were also made extremely uncomfortable by the host’s conduct, and I contacted the bar the next day, regarding the incident. I have since given them ample time to address this, and no one from management ever followed up or made a good faith effort to rectify this situation. That sends a clear message that this business condones hostile, biased, and incredibly inappropriate behavior from their staff.

If you’re looking for a welcoming and enjoyable night out, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.
