Everything was great, except the chef's special (trout) which had a peculiar sauce. Will definitely go back.
Absolutely delicious dinner. We started off with the in house made bread that came with a garlic butter and oil/vinegar. My girlfriend got the Shrimp Carbonara which came with a poached egg, she was unsure at first but ended up LOVING it. I got the duck and it was so tender and juicy. The grits were a perfect side. Ended the night with the strawberry butter cake and it was just the right amount of decadence. We will definitely be back
Second visit to Refinery and although we ordered the exact same dishes as before, we were disappointed in the lack of consistency overall. During our first visit a month ago as a party of 3, our waiter was very professional and attentive never forgetting anything requested, our used plates and silverware were promptly removed and replaced with clean before the next course arrived, and the food all arrived hot. We were so impressed with the quiet atmosphere overlooking the ocean, the creativity of the dishes and wonderful flavors, and had such exceptional service we couldn't wait to go return. Unfortunately last night we had a party of 5 and our waiter forgot several items requested, including a bar drink that we had to request again (he did apologize and the drink was on the house). Our entree plates weren't cleared before dessert arrived so we had to shuffle around, nor was used silverware replaced between courses (maybe our first waiter just did this on his own?). We ordered the grilled Caesar salad, Apple salad, Beef bruschetta, and the hot bread board for appetizer, which was all very good except one of the 3 pieces of bread was hard and burned on the edge (shouldn't have been served). We did order a second bread board and all 3 pieces were perfect. We ordered the Salmon, Pork Chop, and Lamp Chops for our entrees and the Peach Melba and Strawberry Cake for dessert. I highly recommend it all for flavor, but all except for one entree dish arrived room temp or cold, and the peach melba was also not hot and gooey as before so it didn't taste as good. None of us wanted to wait 10+ minutes for entrees to be recooked nor the desserts reheated so we didn't say anything to the waiter. Whoever was in charge of food oversight just really dropped the ball. All to say that while we think the menu options, delicious food flavors, and overall value is very good, the prices are too high for such inconsistency. Very disappointing; Refinery has a lot of potential.
This was our second visit and was just as nice as we remembered. We ate in the upstairs dining room with a beautiful view of the ocean. Our meal consisted of lobster “corn dog”, short rib over jalapeño grits, and bone-in ribeye. All were delicious and well prepared. They have a good selection of wines and specialty cocktails to accompany your meal. Our server, Patrick, was attentive and courteous. We will definitely return on our next trip to Jacksonville Beach.
Anniversary dinner on a Tuesday night. Great food, Hanna our server was outstanding, nice quiet dinner. all food delicious. Room could have been warmer but it was quite cold outside. I would highly recommend this place, special occasion or not
The restaurant was not very crowded. It was a Wed night. Our server was good and the portions were plentiful. It was a pleasant experience. Would like to try it during spring or summer so that we could see the ocean view.
Upscale environment with attentive servers and delicious food. Good variety of options for any taste palette. Music downstairs was very loud and was a bit annoying in the main dining room upstairs but didn't ruin the meal.
First time visiting the Refinery and it will probably be my last. Attended a birthday celebration and upon arriving we were directed up the stairs well. No one informed us that there was an elevator so it took us a minute to reach the top.
I reviewed the menu in advance since I had never been there. There are several menu to select from so I called to confirm that you can order from either. I was told you can order from either menu except the brunch menu. Once I arrived, I reviewed the menu options and noticed it was limited. When I asked the waiter if we were able to order from the Pub menu he said no. Complete opposite of what I was told when I called. I ordered the soup of the day and it was lukewarm. Nothing else interested me because I had my mind set on the fish and chips which was listed on the Pub Menu that we were not allowed to order from.
My niece brought in a birthday cake for the celebration. The waiter was kind enough to ask if we wanted him to cut the cake for us. Well what he fail to tell us was that there was a $2 service charge per slice. We were not aware until we received our tab. On top of that, he cut the entire cake up (more slices than we had guests) charging multiple cuts to the one guest. Cutting the cake cost as much as the cake it self.
Not a good experience!

Celebrated two birthdays last night and I was very impressed with this establishment. Blake was our server and he was attentive, personable, professional and did an awesome job. Great ambiance and our food was incredible. I ordered the Surf and Turf and the filet was cooked to perfection in a delicious sauce and the buttery lobster sauce was delicious. Drinks were great and service was prompt. This was our first time dining here but definitely not our last.

Went to this restaurant to celebrate my sister-in-laws birthday. I viewed the menu online prior to going and thought I would have the option to order from the pub menu. To my surprise the second floor dining does not allow you to order from the pub menu. Some of the food was salty and the soup of the day was supposed to be a thick beef stew over rice and it was watered down with no beef.
We had our own birthday cake and they kindly offered to cut the cake for us but failed to mention they charged each quest $2 for their cut slice of cake.

What a shame, we were so disappointed. Great location, so much potential but the restaurant felt cheep. We ate in the “refined dinning” area upstairs. The decor was gaudy beach, we joked that it felt like a hotel restaurant attached to a Holiday Inn. Kind of annoying that the loud club music downstairs filled the entire restaurant. Made for a weird vibe in the restaurant. The food was underwhelming. The lobster corndogs were good. The crab seafood dip was not fresh. Definitely wasn’t hot, very cream cheese heavy and tasted like it had been sitting out for a while. We ordered the surf and turf and the lamb lollipops. The lobster was the best part. The steak was gross. Super cheap cut, smothered in tenderizer. The lamb lollipops came out raw in the center. Weird taste from the one bite I took. The saving grace was the service. Ed was our waiter and he was fantastic. On top of it the whole night, comped the lamb and did the best he could to make it up to us. Unfortunately, we won’t be back. Way too much money for what it is. Very mediocre food and not fresh. They are trying to do too much here. Seafood, beef, pork, duck, lamb, pasta, and so much more on the menu and from what we could tell, it all falls short. Why not capitalize on the location and just serve fresh seafood?!

I celebrated my birthday here with my family. The service was good, our waitress was very nice and had great knowledge of the menu and suggestions.
My food was ok. I ordered yhe scallops and pineapple risotto. The scallops were cooked to perfection. The risotto wasnt bad, it was just ok.
The dirty martini with blue cheese olives was superb.
We ordered the seafood dip as an appetizer, it was good, not great.
My hubby had the chicken carbonara... the noodles with the pesto was so fresh, I enjoyed the taste, the chicken was so salty and over seasoned.
My children had the tender and grill cheese kids meal with fries, they loved it.
The view is beautiful, but probably more enjoyable in the summer months when the days are longer. Our reservation was at 5, so we did get a little time to enjoy the view. Once the sun went down it was just darkness. The inside ambiance was very nice so that made up for it.
I like that they also have an elevator to access the upper level. My dad is a disabled Vet, and that helped a lot.
All in all its was a good time and I'm happy I was able to experience it.
IF I did go back. Id try the bar location downstairs.
