The service was horrible , we had a party of 5 it took 90 minutes to get our apps. There reason was they are short staffed. The food was just ok. Will not be back. Stay away
We had a lovely server (Russell) but despite having a reservation for a birthday dinner for 4, we had to wait over an hour for our food. They did nothing to acknowledge the celebration or that wait. Give this one a miss!
Weekend lunch is happening at this Jax Beach restaurant with a killer ocean view. Come casual as there are lots of bathing suit attired folks here for frozen drinks & light bites. Our party of four all enjoyed are meals which included tacos, jerk chicken bowl, crab cakes & fried calamari. Area of improvement could be the time between ordering and the time our food arrived. The energy level was super high & noisy. We will return during the week for cocktails & to see if it's a bit quieter. Tip- parking at the hotel is $17! Skip it and park across the street with metered parking.
Love everything about it, our server was amazing! The vibe was so calming and cute! Def going there again!
Our waiter Russell, was very friendly and attentive. However, the noise level was awful, it was too loud. My friend stated her burger was awesome.
Based on the pictures and menu, my fiance & I thought we were going to slightly above casual place for our anniversary dinner, but quickly realized that's not what we signed up for. We didn't realize that it was inside the Springhill Suites until we arrived. The view is great, but most of the patrons were guests of the hotel and/or just coming off the beach. We got the salsa, elote dip, Southwest chicken sandwich, & steak chicken sandwich. We were super underwhelmed by both the elote dip & salsa (to be fair, I thought it was going to be a traditional salsa because I didn't read the description) but both of the sandwiches were surprisingly really good! We'd go back again to have some drinks with a good view, but that's about it.
We came to Sandbar for a late Father's Day for him/early birthday dinner for me date night. I want to address the service first, because I saw some reviews criticizing the service. It was maybe not the friendliest, warmest customer service I've ever had. But our server was polite and professional. He didn't come to the table for kind of a long time at one point during our meal, however the runners that brought our food refilled our drinks so we didn't mind. When he came back over he was very personable and apologized for his extended absence. Our food came out quickly and was hot, dishes were cleared in a timely manner, and our waters stayed full so 5 star service in my opinion.
Now on to the food, we got the calamari appetizer. It was cooked well, the calamari was not overcooked and the fried pepperoncini complimented it perfectly. The lemon aoli could have been a touch more lemony in my opinion, but the dish is served with a lemon wedge so not a big deal.
He and I both got the Cajun shrimp pasta with blackened shrimp and holy cow it was sooooo good!! The pasta was al dente, and the cheesy Cajun Alfredo sauce had a nice peppery kick to it without being too spicy. And my god the shrimp!! Well seasoned, nice and large, SUPER fresh, and cooked to perfection. Just a really good meaty bite of shrimp! And they put a decent amount in the pasta! As an added bonus, the crostini that comes with it was a delectable little crunchy, melt in your mouth, garlicky treat.
The vibe and decor were super cute too, great views of the beach and pier, and a soft, modern, and bright white and tan theme.
Thank you for a great evening, Sandbar! We'll definitely be back.
We made a reservation for the 4th of July via opentable about a month ago. Got a notification our reservation was canceled today because they now want to charge $135 PER PERSON to sit on their deck. Doesn’t even include multiple drinks just seating, 1 cocktail, and a buffet. Stupid money grab.
Beautiful atmosphere. Amazing service. High credits to the chef for 10/10 food quality, flavors and presentation.
Honestly. I don’t leave reviews but this experience needs one. We came here from the hype of social media. We ordered Calamari and Cajun Chicken pasta. When the food came out, the “calamari” was a bowl with about 6 pieces in total of calamari with the rest being pepperoncini. My pasta was luke warm and only warm because the chicken on top was. The pasta was watered down and limp.
I understand the aesthetic of it all. Good drinks with a view. But the food?? Absolutely not for a dinner. Especially when rooms are going for $288 a night.

This place was awesome, great view of Jax beach. Kinda hidden in a hotel. I didn’t care too much for my food. I got a jerk chicken bowl and it seemed bland, however my boyfriend’s meal was honestly the best and are crab cakes for an appetizer were perfect, so I still would give them a good review and I would go again and get something different.
Had an awesome experience at The Sandbar — Church, the bartender, was amazing! Super friendly, attentive, and made some of the best drinks we've had in a while. He really made us feel welcome and added a great vibe to the night. Definitely ask for Church if you're stopping by!
Love this place! Great food. Fun atmosphere and amazing drinks! Ask for Church. He is service oriented and fun to talk to. The Smash burger is the way to go.
Bartender Chase was a good time! Funny guy. Food and ambiance were delightful. We sat outside and faced the ocean. It was a really lovely Sunday afternoon. Oh and the cocktails were good too! But those potatoes….OMG!! I wanted to roll around in them, they were so good.
The Sandbar is unique because of its ocean view and cool vibe. We biked there from Atlantic Beach and locked up in the parking garage on ground level. Stairs from the parking garage end at the hotel pool and the Sandbar. Staff is great. Decor is great. Seating inside is great. Outside option is bar top along the railing overlooking the boardwalk, Jax Pier, and the Atlantic Ocean. The bar top is always in the shade.
