They gave me peace of mind and were very responsive. They fully explained my options and were able to deal directly with the dreaded IRS.

I am proud to share that I have been relying on TaxSmith to accurately file my taxes for 3 years now. I am very satisfied with their thorough and timely review for my taxes.

I came to them to get my taxes 2022 in order and they not only got my taxes in order but they also got me a no pay from the federal government which I really really really needed I thought that because of the low amount I owed them that I wouldn't get anything but a payment plan but yet they were able to get me a no payment I really appreciate the service their communication and their professionalism will definitely use again :-) !!

For nearly a decade I've relied on TaxSmith for continued guidance after they dealt with a troubling situation with the IRS and they continue to exceed my expectations of a professional partner in my families future. I have recommended them to family and friends who have also had the same experience.

I would like to use this time to rate this business..Based on my personal history as a consumer, and prime believer in customer service. This is a "business" that doesn't operate as it proclaims, and it is a very scam. Please do your research before even considering this location, as you will be disappointed and back to square one or worst if legal situation isn't handled promptly. 1-It took this office close to a month to enter a POA for CDFTA, or never did they follow up if POA was confirmed. CPA/EA handled better to at least enter a POA. 2- But they where very proactive to charge my debit card on date of payment. 3- Not once did i get a call back from "Attorney", even when I had serious questions, only for intake, desk clerks handled the phone calls. 4- 3 weeks from open contract they contact me for request of documents, because they werent clear to view, why didnt they check when receipt of documents. 5- I can go on and on, but I rather move on to a real attorney for my delicate situation, this place will eventually take its toll due to poor service and lack of ethics. Anybody can post a spiffy website and plaster make up to look attractive, not everything that shines is gold.

I called a number off the internet searching for a tax attorney that referred me to Tax Smith, $6k later and still owing the IRS, I am furious that this company not only put us in our current position (owing a penalty), but made assurances they couldn't keep. 7 months later and $6k poorer we would have been better off dealing with the IRS on our own. When I initially called the 800 number that I got off the internet I spoke to a person by the name of BrIan. Apparently Brian is an intake person. After explaining our situation in DETAIL, Brian said "we can definitely help you!" he further indicated that he was "very certain" that we would either get forgiven of the IRS debt or at the very least, low payments of NO MORE than $50-$100 a month. Again, I was very forthright explaining our income, our 401k withdrawals and our taxes owed and why: The only thing I did not disclose were our assets; a 7 year old Harley Davidson, an older 2008 fifth-wheel and our vehicles which we are still paying on. I explained that we had an excessive income above our SS and pension due to taking from our 401k to build a home after COVID took us from living full-time in an RV, I left no room for doubt. When he reaffirmed the assurances he made I told him that it sounded like the relief we were looking for and signed the retainer/agreement. What we ended up with was a paralegal (Michaela) who when I asked what they were doing for us, became defensive saying that without them, we could not have been given the payment option with the IRS that they were working out for us,, I took her at her word only to find out that was not the truth. The bottom line is, the IRS did not forgive us (it was not even an option) and the $50-$100 payment to the IRS that Bryan said would be the very least ended up being $330 a month, hardly the solution we were looking for. The real punch in the gut came towards the end of our case when Michaela called to tell us the bottom line and I told her that I did not think they served our interests at all and the $6k we had to pay them was for nothing. I also told her the assurance Brian made to us, to which she said he did not. How did she know, she wasn't part of the conversation with Brian. Michaela then proceeded to talk loud and over us, not listening to ONE word of our side of the conversation, immediately when I asked them to justify $6k, Michaela became indignant. It was so bad that we literally put our phone down (it was on speaker), left the room and came back about 4 mins later and she was still going off! Finally, feeling like we had been sucker punched and worn down, we asked how much our monthly payment to the IRS would be and when do we start paying them, she told us and then we hung up. At one point when we told Michaela that we felt like we were played by them, she said "we've turned people away if we couldn't help them." Well, I call shenanigans, otherwise we would have been turned away.

I used Tax Smith back in 2014 and the did a good job. But now they are as bad as others are say if not worse Today the debited my bank account 2x for $975 and $100. why 2 debits and not just one. suspicious. I have debited way more than $1075. when I called they sent a email from Makelis Halford saying it was for past due invoices and they have been trying to reach me for years. My phone number is the same, address is the same, email the same. I got nothing from them on over 6 years about any past due amounts. Tax Smith would not complete the work if not fully paid. I asked for all contracts, dates and letters when the tried to reach me no response. Talked to my bank, find fraud complain, stopped payment on both transactions filed a complaint with both Florida and California attorneys general and filed a compliant against Angie Smith with the Florida BAR. My attorney says this is not a billing mistake. Tax Smith says the have offices in all states. The are just mail drops, nobody works there. I checked 2 offices in California only mail drops nothing more Don't use Tax Smith! Hire local attorney in your area. I work with attorneys every day and when I told them my story the were appalled. You never after 6 years go debit some ones account when the previous debit authorization has expired This is billing fraud at its best!

This is the worst experience I could of ever imagined. High fees, ridiculous late charges, called 3 times a day if payment wasn't made that day. I paid over $8000 to this service where I left over 20 emails, phone messages for Angie and her constant newly hired personel as never did I work with the sAme person ever as oh I'm sorry he or she is no longer working with us. The agent had constantly trued to reach out to her and was saying I'm waiting on her to get back to me.....,all promises broken, no clear plan always something new they were working on and in the end accomplished nothing but taking my money over 3 years. angie could care less about why or how or asking inquiring westions to alleviate any stress or concerns my wife and I had. They repeatedly asked for say information to be sent in that was already provided weeks earlier. I am currently filing a complaint in Mn and also their residing state with the state of Florida. This is a fraudulent service in my opinion....BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!

Several years ago we retained this "firm" due to a tax issue. I must agree with the other negative posts. First, there was a staff member there who provided an email with a "fake" name. When I questioned this, he said he was doing that because he had signed a non-compete at his previous employer and he and the attorney did not want the previous employer to know he was working there (ethics?). Our entire issue was that we wanted to continue the dialogue with the IRS or go to a hearing and avoid any "threats" of levy or garnishment (while we were disputing amount and a few other issues). I spoke to the attorney only once (and I had to keep asking to do this). I was usually dealing with an assistant and "paralegal." When I spoke to the attorney, her advice was: "Cash in your savings and 401k and just pay the tax liability, you earn more in one month than most people do in a year." I reminded her that paying was not the issue, but there was a dispute as to the amount due, etc. In addition, if a lump sum discount or payment plan were offered, we wanted to at least consider those options. We finally determined that this company is quick to get you to sign a retainer agreement and collect a "flat" fee up front, then basically provide very little service after that. We eventually sought the advice of another reputable tax attorney who billed by the hour and we received very sound advice and a plan of action, and the issue was resolved satisfactorily. His billed hours were more economical and efficient than the "flat fee" (we have since sought tax advice from this other legitimate professional on other tax matters over the years). I cannot recommend this company. Update 04/04/2022 The response of the "business owner" paid as much attention to the review as they did to us when we were "clients" (for a thankfully very short time). Nowhere in the review does it say we had a relationship with TaxSmith "for years." When we were faced with deadlines and were never able to speak to an attorney, we moved on quickly to another reputable tax attorney. Thank goodness we did not take their advice that we did not "qualify" and were "unable to keep our money" because when we went to another tax attorney for advice, we were able to do just that. We were eventually offered acceptable terms and a payment plan. It would not have been a waste of our time and money to continue but rather a loss to the "firm," who charging a flat fee "up front" would have had to put in the time and effort to actually earn that fee and represent us as we had asked from the beginning. Suffice to say, we would not publicly rate this "firm" without facts. Just as the response indicates, we were advised that we would never be considered for a compromise amount or payment plan and that turned out to be untrue. We have kept all emails and documents, from this firm, as well as the positive results garnered by the subsequent attorney. We still have the emails from the "fake name" employee, which is conveniently not addressed.

When we had our consult with the paralegal and we were told that our case was a sure win. We were then told that for $1000 they could take care of that for us. We paid the money and just like that, the communication stopped. We could not get in touch with either the paralegal or the attorney and they did not get in touch with us. After about seven days we were contacted by the paralegal, never the attorney and we were told that the attorney told him that it would cost many more $1,000's of dollars to go after the IRS and fight for our case. We also received a email later from the Attorney telling us our best corse of action was to basically lay down and let the IRS continue to walk on us. This was a lot of money for me and my family. And after talking to the paralegal he knew that we were not financially well off. So once we were told that cost was gonna be substantial they hoped that we would have no choice but to give up. But we didn't because there are honest firms out there.?Shop around and READ THEIR REVIEWS!!!!! Don't fall for that quick pat you on the back attorney that tells you what they think you wanna hear. Tell them the facts and demand nothing but the facts in return. You don't need anybody's opinion, you just need to know how your case is going to be handled upfront and potentially how it could unfold. Then and only then you can assess your options and a good honest attorney with give you this information at no cost during you free consult.

I reached out to this company on a recommendation from a family member and wish I had gone with a better company. Nothing they told me was correct and when I call to get answers no one can even tell me what is going on. I still can't even get a simple answer from them. I just want to know what they have done and what they are working on and have been waiting over a week for that information. Meanwhile the information they told me in the beginning was all false. Apparently they do not even know simple tax situations as mine is very basic. I should have filed myself and then I would be in the same tax situation and I would have more money! I hired them because I thought they could help me and they said they could. I definitely trusted the wrong people.

I think I would be in a very different life without TaxSmith. In the midst of divorce, bankruptcy, and tax debt, all I could do was to keep making the monthly tax payments, which were lower than the IRS had proposed, thanks to the agreement that TaxSmith had negotiated for me. However, with all of the procedural glitches and errors that the IRS and California FTB threw my way, I probably would have been erroneously declared "in default" and had my wages garnished if TaxSmith had not been there the whole way, speaking up for me in a way that got the IRS and FTB's attention. I had already learned that the IRS and FTB don't pay attention to me. I have now completely paid off my tax debt. Thank you, TaxSmith, for giving me an opportunity to work hard so I could move on. My work would not have paid off without your protection.

Not recommended, total waste of $4000. They said they can either write IRS demand off or mitigate it down to pennies for dollar. It was neither. They offered me the same deal IRS did in the beginning which was monthly payment with penalties. So now, TS, at first said it was going to be small monthly payment without mentioning penalties. I had to get that out of them clearly. So in the end I had to pay IRS plus wasted $4000 for nothing, OUCH! If you're not into gambling thousands$$$ then don't do it!

I am happy to say that as a result of contacting TaxSmith, I have resolved a crippling situation with the IRS. I'd been getting hammered by them for several years now due to a couple of ill-formed decisions on my part concerning annuity distributions. The IRS has an interesting way of handling that. So interesting in fact, that it cost me $18k + in assessments. Thankfully, I was referred to TaxSmith by NFCC and was connected to Briana ** who counseled me on resolving these issues in the most acceptable, and affordable way. I have been, in the recent past, counseled and misled by a less reputable group in California, and subsequently cheated out of retirement money. So please believe me when I say, TaxSmith is honest, will work with you, always be available, and find the best decision possible.
