My wife and I made reservations for November 3rd at the Nest to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary as it was recommended by our friends who dine there frequently. When we arrived, we were seated at a table by the windows with a lovely view. Our server took our orders for 2 New York strips and our appetizers. Shortly after, a very friendly and professional gentleman served us 2 salads. Being that this was our first visit, we assumed that the salads were part of our meal. Our server quickly huffed over to our table shaking her head as we took our first bites of the salad. She stated that this was a mistake and that we either had to pay for the salads or she had to take them away. We were made to feel as though we had done something wrong and as a result, we were embarrassed. She checked on us once during our meal although there were only 2 other couples in the dining room and never offered to fill our water glasses even though they were empty. My wife and I have worked in the restaurant industry for numerous years before retiring and have never been treated with such a lack of professionalism and attentiveness. The only saving grace of our visit was the gentleman who served our meals and happily offered to take a couple of pictures of us for our anniversary. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the plate presentation was beautiful. Kudos to the chef! It is unfortunate that our 40th wedding anniversary was tainted by the server's attitude and poor judgement. In retrospect, we were regretful of the tip we left as she did not deserve it.

Staff was great. Ambience was nice. Food was bland and very disappointing. Will not return when there are better options nearby.

What a nice evening! Started at the comfortable bar for a happy hour drink before being seated for dinner. We have enjoyed items on the Bar Menu on prior visits. Chose two appetizers which easily met expectations; burrata and the collosal shrimp cocktail. Dinners were outstanding in both flavor and presentation; black grouper and the tender boneless short ribs with gnocchi! We topped the evening with expresso, cappuccino and coconut cake dessert. The final bill was very reasonable under $200 , including the glasses of wines. We have been going to this venue ( previouly Fairwinds, Pietros and now the Nest) regularly since the early 90s . The upgraded atmosphere, service and Louis's hospitality is top notch. A hats off to Chef Richard who also stops by to introduce himself to many of the diners and will be back soon .

This was a special occasion for my mother's 94 years old birthday. We arrived early and went to the bar area for a cocktail. Brandan was very kind and tentative with my mom. We asked for a quiet table for 6. The hostess and I'm sorry I didn't get her name, was wonderful giving us several choices. Mary our server was also great. Now the food. Oysters Rockefeller the best we have ever tasted blue crab martini scallops great. The snapper with grits I was told was also great. I could go on and on all of the entrees were wonderful
I would give it 10 stars for a great evening

The Nest is finding its groove! Unchanged are the great staff, many of whom have been at the previous Pietro’s on the River for years. What’s new is the chef, Richard Drousche, the menu and the owners, Janeen and Bill MacLean, all dedicated to ensuring an unparalleled dining experience. There is a prix fixe menu for $49 consisting of salad, entree and dessert. Two of us had the frutti di mare, able to accommodate with gluten free pasta, with huge shrimp and diced clam in a light tomato cream sauce. One of us had the 5 oz filet mignon, tender and with julienne vegetables, and boursin mashed potatoes, very tasty! We passed around the coconut cake, bread pudding and fudge brownie a la mode for a sweet ending. There is a new cocktail menu but wine was in our minds. The wine list is small but well chosen. Another great dish is the blackened snapper with cheese grits and Tasso ham gravy. The bottom line is that the owners, chef and staff will bend over backward to deliver a great meal in a chic but understated ambience with a great sunset view.

We are locals and this restaurant was very disappointing. Too expensive for less than mediocre food. Kyle G’s is 100 times better than here. We had filet and it was terrible and not worth the price at all. The manager had no customer service speciality and said what he had to say and left the table. He did not care. We were at the restaurant when it initially opened and it went straight down hill from months ago. No one was in the restaurant either which makes it seem like it is not a prosperous restaurant. The manager who is suppose to be the main source of support was less than helpful/personable. Do not go to this restaurant if you are a local, it is not worth it at all.

The food is expensive and not good. Our waiter was nice but not well trained in fine dining. The brie appetizer for $20 was poorly done. Publix brie is my guess, but I'm sure crackers were Pepperidge Farm. Plating was terrible. Again, for the money, not good. I miss Pietro's.
To the owner: Sorry you are so defensive. I was just being honest. The waiter told us it was his first night and the food was sub-par. I leave amazing reviews when it's deserved.

First, I don’t understand all the negative reviews of the Nest. There were 4 of us for dinner and from the second we walked in we were treated like family. Food was excellent had Calamari Steak and Roasted Oysters all very good. Entrees 2 of us had the pork chop, Duck and Crab Cake all excellent . The crab cakes were made with lump crabmeat. Our server was very attentive received bread at the table. They are about to roll out a new menu with a new chef in a few weeks as their chef left suddenly however the Sous Chef is doing an excellent job with the existing menu. I can’t wait to return on my next trip to try out the new menu. Also saw a beautiful Sunset from our table! Give the Nest a try you won’t be disappointed.
