Food quality is fresh and matches the pricing. I've been here a few times as a casual but vibrant ambiance and always enjoy it. The ceviche is SO good even for a Mexican restaurant.
The service was excellent and the restaurant is very nice inside. However the food lacked the Latin flavor. The portion size was good it just tasted bland for my taste.
Making the reservation on my phone while on the golf course was easy. We arrived and were seated immediately and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The menu is excellent and all four of our dinners (and the guacamole) were fantastic.
Excellent food and service. Everything we had was delicious staring with the chips and salsa. Also had a sort rib empanada, carnitas taco, and chicken fajitas.
🔥 Calaveras Cantina – The Best Mexican Flavors in Boca Raton! 🔥 Walking around downtown Boca Raton, we stumbled upon Calaveras Cantina—and wow, this spot is a must-try! 🌮🍹 🍽️ What We Ordered: 🌮 Brisket Quesadilla – Crispy, cheesy, and packed with smoky brisket flavor! 🔥 🌯 Chicken Burrito – Hearty, flavorful, and beyond satisfying! 🍺 Dos XX Amber – A perfect, crisp pairing 🍻 🍹 Latin Lover Margarita – Smooth, tropical, and so refreshing! #CalaverasCantina #BocaRatonEats #MexicanFoodie #MargaritaLovers #TacoTime #FloridaFoodie #DrinkLocal"
The food is ok. But the “street corn” … just a corn cutting in 4 and put on top spicy “Cheetos”??? That’s gross and disrespectful. The price for that is effing ridiculous.
Great happy hour choices. Drinks were delicious and the food is fabulous. Great chips and salsa.
We love coming here for taco Tuesday and delicious margaritas-had the passion fruit this time -excellent.
Beautiful night with friends. Short rib burrito was delicious and Tyler, our waiter was great
We tried this restaurant on a Friday evening. We were seated right away (had a reservation). Server came and we placed an order, wine for me and margarita for him. I thought the margarita was on the small side and not served in the traditional glass. Second margarita was too sour. Food: we split the empanada, not bad. He ordered the wet burrito with smoked brisket. Well, there was nothing wet about this burrito, inside and out was dry. We had to ask for additional sauce which was over roasted tomato flavor, rate the burrito a 2. I ordered the octopus from the small plates section. It was well cooked, though again, the sauce a little on the dry side. We won't be going back.

I took 2 friends with me for a late lunch who had never been to Calaveras before. One of them was from Cuba and specifically requested to eat at a Mexican restaurant when we were making plans. She was extremely pleased with the food and said it was the best she has had in this area. Everything was great--food, service and ambience. We sat on the covered patio and it was very comfortable. Absolutely no complaints.
Easily my favorite Mexican restaurant!! We always have great service and the food is phenomenal. 10/10 recommend.
The ceviches were extremely small and contained almost no fish or shrimps. The rest of the food was passable at best.
Amazing food. Service is amazing
