Park Avenue BBQ Grille

Not a true bbq joint. Apparently it's just as hard to find good BBQ around here as it is to find good Mexican. Nothing is smoked like true BBQ should be. This is the McDonald's of BBQ and y'all should be ashamed. Ribs are steam cooked and then sauced and thrown on the grill. Corn was days old not fresh. Mac n cheese is Stouffer quality geez, have any of the owners ever ate real BBQ? How do you sleep at night knowing you are not true to the Q. Even most steakhouses around here at least have a southern pride smoker and do ribs right. You had one job and you failed. You took my money but it won't happen again. Sauce is awesome but I imagine they buy it from somewhere else.

I’ve eaten at Park Ave BBQ many times, and the food can be hit or miss especially the baby back ribs. Sometimes they’re perfectly tender and fall off the bone, but other times they’re tough and hard to eat. Unfortunately, this visit was one of those misses. The ribs were dry and chewy, so I sent them back.

What really made the experience worse was the server. For some reason, he came back to let me know that some of the ribs I returned were “actually tender,” as if that somehow invalidated my decision. Then, while clearing the table, he picked up my sister’s plate who also ordered ribs - and asked if I wanted to finish hers. Seriously? The server had zero tact.

This visit was disappointing enough to speak up. When the food isn’t good and the service is borderline insulting, it leaves a bad taste all around.

I've been Been to a lot of Park Avenue grills and it's always been excellent. Today, my food tasted like it had been stored in refrigerator a couple of times and reheated.

I witnessed Angelo talk an old lady off the ledge while she was trying to order DoorDash. He talked to her on the phone for over ten minutes. Amazing patience. 5 star employee!!!

Brisket did not taste good. Tasted like it was kept in a crockpot. Not much smoke flavor. My husband got chicken and loved it. Very expensive. But when I shared my concern the waiter made it right.

If the owners of this company don't know the treasure they have in Shelby, they should be told immediately. All personality, knowledge of the menu, funny, kind and always accommodating. The restaurant is fine. Most of the staff is friendly. Serving orders is super fast and hot. Pricing is fairly steady, so that helps. It's a great place to have lunch or dinner in a casual atmosphere with good food.

Best BBQ . No question about it. I love the food and service. They are very Professional, they are Award winning, Consistent, and very Empathetic to their guests. I love the new renovations. Great leadership starts from the top! Great job! I will be a lifetime customer. I don’t live in the state but this is my spot where I better eat when I’m traveling. We don’t have this great BBQ up north 🙄
