“I was pleasantly surprised. In the past The Launch has been mediocre and their water tasted like it came straight from the sewer but they are the only game in town on the river between Ortona and Franklin locks so we stopped in. We immediately noticed they had skinnied down their menu so I was not feeling good about the visit especially knowing it was going to be an expensive lunch. When the drinks arrived we were expecting sewer water and planned to dump tons of lemon to make it drinkable but they must have added a water filter because the water and tea actually tasted good. They added mozzarella cheese wedges to the menu and they are fantastic. I would go back just for those. The smash burger was very tasty and the fries hot and crispy. My hubs ordered the fish and chips and he said it was really good. The prices are a few dollars more per item but you are on the water so they have a captive audience but it was definitely an improved experience from the past so if it's been a minute since you have been there you may want to give them another try.“
