Food is always good here, but the value for the money is lacking. Portions are rather small, and food is overpriced. Bakery items are exceptionally overpriced, beyond the restaurant fare. Good selection of southern favorites, just wish they gave you a generous “southern” portion, and more sides with the sandwiches and entrees.

Worth the stop, and great location whether you fly into the airport or are driving by. Very clean location, no problems parking.

I’m a big fan of food in general, but food within walking distance from the ramp with a view of beautiful planes? That’s a dream come true. I ordered the Air Controller plate, absolutely delicious. Just enough carbs to make you a little sleepy on the flight home, haha. If you’re in the area, fuel is cheap and a stop at Short Cakes is 100% worth it. Great food, great vibes, and you can’t beat the location. Safe flying, SEE YUH!

I have been going here for years , great food friendly service, always welcoming. So when my teenage daughter wanted a special cake for her birthday (one definitely out of my baking league) I decided to give them a call. All I can say is no matter what you are looking for, try them!! It was lovely to look at and even better to taste!

The staff are all super sweet and the cakes and cookies are just barely sweeter (they are exceptional) this place is a must try, down home southern cooking with a runway view! I stop in every chance I get and have never left disappointed (which says a lot!)

Walked in at 10:35 am …. It is 11:45 am …. Currently still waiting ….. this is absurd ….. we are waiting because we are with an elderly man or we would have walked a half hour ago. Sara Beth refuses to make eye contact at this point … doesn’t even come to apologize or say anything at all???? Review asks if we are here for breakfast or lunch .. came for breakfast but it’s lunchtime now .. plus the flytrap on the window shelf is gross … some friendly banter would have prevented this review .. we saw three tables wait over an hour

One of my favorite fly-in breakfast places. Service is always prompt, but don't be surprised if you have to wait for a table on a Sunday at peak brunch time. The carnitas skillet is really good, and the biscuits with guava jelly are to die for.

Very pricey, two eggs and two bacon, and toast with coffee was 15.00, they charge 3.50 for a cup of coffee, the waitress was very polite and good service, but there is no way a little cup of coffee should cost that much when everyone in town charges 2.00 why are they 3.50 for coffee and 4.00 for soft drinks and tea, never will go there again, it's sad they charge so much for breakfast like that. They gonna make it to where people can't afford to eat out, I understand that prices are up, but this is what's going to put restaurants out if business and already have, cup of coffee should not have cost 3.50 for a small cup plus the first cup I got had coffee grounds in it, plus we didn't get menu to see prices of coffee til she brought it and we had to ask for a menu!

Update answer to their review: they said cost went up 400% and they charge 25% , if the cost went up 400% then nobody would be in business, slowly these businesses are going out cause of the cost of eating out! 400 % is a lot and business would be out of business!

I'mstill alive

I usually take a bunch of photos of what we eat, but we were all so hungry we couldn't wait lol. Everything we ordered was great. This was our first visit here and will be coming back when in town. We had the buffalo wrap, a cheese burger that wasn't just a frozen patty like many restaurants use, philly sandwich that tasted just like a cattleman's steak, load fries, a Cuban, and some fried green tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes had a nice fried breaded coating that wasn't corn meal. These are some of the best I've had and we've even had them at the Whistle stop cafe in Georgia. Id give them an overall 4/5. If they were a touch thinner, my personal preference, I would have give them a 5/5. Our waitress was very attentive and on top of the refills. We never felt like we were being ignored. We didn't have room for the desserts there, but we did walk out with some baked goods to try when we get home. They have a variety of cupcakes, brownies, cookies, pastries, and muffins...so save room for some sweets or be sure to take some with you! Oh and their hot chocolate is so chocolatey and made my kids day.

Parking: No trouble finding parking.

Kid-friendliness: Kid menu options on the back of the menu. Nice selection of chicken tenders, Mac n cheese, pb n j, pork snacker, quesadilla. Come with a side and drink for $8.

Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp available.
