We loved the beef nachos and beef fajitas. There was so much food we had to take half home. Awesome service as the food arrived within fifteen minutes.

This restaurant is amazing!! My husband and I go here at least once a week if not twice a week. Every is so nice and the food is absolutely amazing! The owner is amazing and so is the bartender. She makes the best drinks in Polk county! The waitresses and waiters are amazing in as well!

I’ve been to my fair share of Mexican restaurants but hands down, these taco Al Pastor are the best I’ve ever had. The pork was tender and there were actual pieces of pineapple in with the pork. Absolutely will come back for these alone. Server was great and food came out fast. Worth the drive from Lakeland.

This is my first time at the restaurant, and I’m so glad I came. Everything from the warm, welcoming atmosphere to the thoughtfully prepared dishes made the experience truly memorable. The food was delicious, full of fresh flavors, and clearly made with care. The staff were kind, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. It’s rare to find a place that feels this special right from the start. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a wonderful meal and an even better experience.

If i was to be able to put 0 stars i would. Do not waste your money here!
I went to this place last week, and my food was cold and completely lacked flavor. I decided to give it another chance a couple of days later, but it was even worse. The customer service was terrible, my food was cold again, and to top it off, there was a hair ā€œblondeā€ in my food. I honestly question the cleanliness of this place because I noticed the cooks weren’t even wearing gloves. I don’t know who owns this restaurant, but they seriously need to make some major improvements.

Los Comadres: Central Florida's Best-Kept Mexican Secret - A True 5-Star Gem

Located right in Lake Alfred, FL, Los Comadres isn't just a restaurant; it's a culinary destination. It's not an exaggeration to say this is the best authentic Mexican food in Polk County and arguably all of Central Florida. If the Michelin Guide were to grace our area, Los Comadres would be a shoe-in for a Bib Gourmand rating.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a vibrant, well-decorated space that captures the spirit of an authentic Mexican cantina. It's loud, lively, and full of the energy of people genuinely enjoying great food and company.

The experience starts, and might end, with their exceptional beverage program. The Margarita is one of the best I've had in a restaurant, perfectly balanced and fresh. The Michelada is superb, served in a fun, custom 16-oz mug with a great mix that carries just the right amount of building spice. These drinks alone are a reason to visit.

On this trip, I was lucky enough to try three standout items:

Pozole Verde: A huge, deeply flavorful serving! The broth was rich, packed with fresh vegetables, and had a subtle spice that built wonderfully with every bite. The portion size is massive, easily enough for two meals.

Torta: Absolutely amazing. Served on a soft, buttery bread, the sandwich was loaded with perfectly cooked meat and cheese that was melted to perfection. A flawless execution of a classic.

Tacos: A perfect complement to the rest of the meal, demonstrating the kitchen's mastery of the basics.

The staff are attentive, friendly, and genuinely amazing hosts. They are knowledgeable about the menu and enhance the experience with their warm service.

At around $15-$20 per person (with drinks running $10-$15), the value here is incredible. For the generous portion sizes and the exceptional quality, you are getting a steal.
The Verdict: If you are searching for the taste of the best authentic Mexican food—not Tex-Mex—your search ends at Los Comadres. Go hungry!
