Haven't eaten there in a long time but went for takeout xmas this year and it wasnt that good at all. The lomain was old and soggy as was the eggrolls which were undercooked. Eggdrop and the rice was ok. This place use to be premier but over time the quality has suffered. Old and tired and it shows..

I don't recommend this restaurant. There not even consider one if you go in person. They only do takeout and when I tried to the food the chicken was still raw. Try somewhere else then this place.

Went there expecting a buffet, however, it is takeout only. I ordered spare ribs. They were tasty, but not “fall off the bone“ like I normally prefer. Overall, I would recommend this place.

I don't eat out much because I prefer my own cooking. I usually will not comment on a place if I'm not satisfied but I have to with Hong Yip. I should've taken notice that I never see anyone coming or going while in the area. I didn't enjoy any of the food we bought for dinner and ended up cooking...ugh! This one was not my cup of noodles!

This used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant not anymore it has drop to the bottom of my list due to my favorite dish was a 10 to becoming a 0 the special fried rice doesn't have any meat paying more just for the rice the chicken tastes sour this place has really lost my business. And this is only just one dish there are more it seem all they care about is getting money for there customers and not providing quality food that taste good .

Spent 35. Dollars did not get what I ordered. my own fault for not checking the food . What I did get was awful. It took over an hour to get my food.will never get another meal at hong Yip .everyone was complaining while they waited. Nightmare!
Friendly staff, and good food. This is a take out only diner. They do not have any seating for dine in, and no plans to reopen the old seating area. Can still recommend this place for when that MSG craving kicks in.

Okay, I’ve eaten here a handful of times now and I can now recommend this restaurant. They also offer delivery which is rare these days.
I am super picky when it comes to Chinese-American food, but this place honestly reminds me of the small hole in the wall restaurants I used to find in Brooklyn. Also, it’s SO hard to find restaurants outside of NYC that make good tofu, and Hong Yip has nailed it every time.
I’ve tried the Mapo Tofu, the Sesame Tofu, and the General Tso’s Tofu and they were all amazing. I keep going back for the General’s Tofu with the vegetable fried rice on the side.
I also enjoy the Crab Rangoon, the Shrimp Rolls, and the Spring Rolls.
I usually call in my order and it’s ready when I arrive. They have been super consistent. Friendly folks that work here, too. I would recommend Hong Yip if you’re in Lake City and you’re looking for good Chinese-American food. Support your local businesses!

If you want Chinese in Lake City, this is it. I was traveling through the area and grabbed some takeout while I was here charging my vehicle. Food was nice and fresh (probably on account of me showing up to order 5 minutes after they opened). I thought the staff was very polite and their lunch prices can’t be beat. I got multiple items for under $15.
