As an over the road team truck driver my wife and I are always looking for places just like this. Great place to go have breakfast and the place was crowded with locals. Service was southern hospitality through and through, coffee was excellent and so was the food. Large portions and very reasonable prices. No large truck parking but we were there because of a breakdown so we didn’t need a big truck parking spot.

It is a home town restaurant with good food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner you can't go wrong. Food comes out hot and fresh, made to your liking. They have booths and tables. Outside seating under the awning. One at a time restrooms so be patient and wait your turn. Prices are great usually under 10 bucks, so we just get more food than our bellies can hold. It's a small place but I highly recommend you go. Oh and check out the license plates.Parking: It's not a big lot so leave the trailer at home. It's also a one way loop around.Kid-friendliness: Kids like to look at all the plates hanging on the walls.Wheelchair accessibility: It will be tight getting a wheelchair in here but they will do their best to accommodate.

We went in around 6pm, waited close to 30 minutes for our dinner. Which isn't bad because we love eating there, however tonight we were both served cold room temperature food. All you can eat shrimp you would expect to be freshly cooked. (it wasn't) My fried chicken wasn't even warm and appeared to be over cooked. A walk in customer ordered food to go and her container was steaming hot when she opened to check it. Come on Shirley's cooks yall can do better than this. Left very disappointed but still left them a generous tip. :-) :-)

This is a hometown mom's kitchen type of place. You can get dishes that are nit typically served ay your chain restaurants. I had beef stroganoff and it was very good. So the atmosphere is homey but not upscale. I would suggest that they get some good music playing to create a better aura. The staff are very welcoming and clearly they know and care about their customers. The Lemon Pie was excellent.
