I hadn’t had Steak & Shake in a while. Truly, I was under the impression it may not be what it used to be. We stopped while traveling at this location and it certainly made me realize I was wrong. We had a fantastic experience: food was delicious, service was quick, the environment was pleasant, and the restaurant was very clean, including the bathrooms. Personally, I enjoyed the new setup of ordering up front and collecting your food once your number was called. I still felt like the staff and manager were very attentive to our needs while we dined. Great job, Steak & Shake in Lake City!

The men’s urinal has been out of service every visit since moving to the area in September and it has made the otherwise great visit turn sour. Foods great they just need to fix the bathrooms and if they can fix the bathrooms I would be happy to change my review.

I don’t like using kiosks. They are very impersonal and unsanitary. Food was good, but having to scan a QR code to get the drink machine to work seemed ridiculous to me. I thought the restaurant was clean. Might sound a petty complaint, but the trash has a very small hole that you have to take every thing off your tray individually to get it to fit.

Their touch screen didn't work. There was nobody there to take my order or help me. ?? Ok, so I went to the drive through instead. I sat there for over 10 minutes. Not a single car moved at all. :/
I got tired of waiting and left for another restaurant.

Ordering is stupid. If you have to pay someone to stand at the drink fountain or ordering kiosks to explain the process, then just have a regular cashier. Food wasn't good. Grilled cheese was burnt to being inedible. Fries weren't even remotely fresh. Burgers were okay.
Would I go back- Yea. To me not having waitresses is a big deal. It goes hand in hand with atmosphere. I wasnt expecting a taco bell experience at steak and shake. Walked in, had to place the order on the machine and then the food was called out, we had to get up and go get it from the counter, serve ourselves and take care of our dishes. Food was as expected... they've definitely shrunk the menu...
