I just picked up $49 + tip worth of sushi and food from Yamato. The food was god awful. All of the rice was dry and crunchy! How is that possible for a sushi restaurant!!! The sushi just crumbled. The tempura style veggie dinner was just giant pieces of greasy vegetables. The only good thing about the meal was the miso soup and it barely had flavor. Such a shame knowing that I have had incredible meals there in the past. Do not waste your precious money here.

When first visiting in the Spring, Yamato's was delicious. Not so much these last few months. Hope it gets better, again. But as of now, we won't be back.

Beautiful Disaster
I’ve only eaten in the restaurant 3 times. I usually get take out. I got take out last night. I was VERY disappointed. I walked in, it was hot and musty inside. It looked kind of dirty as well. Normally when I walk in, I get a warm welcome and happy faces. That didn’t happen. I don’t know if it was a bad night or what but they need to step it up. My food, well it was okay. It wasn’t the best I’ve had from here, that’s for sure.

Chelsea, our waitress was absolutely phenomenal! Quick of wit and fleet of foot. Always attentive to the customer. The food was excellent. Except the soup was served cold. Both windows and blinds are dirty.
The food was not well season. Also there was a burnt and charged flavored through all of the food is if the grill hasn't been properly cleaned. We didn't finish the meal and decided to leave early I was very disappointed.

This is one of our favorite places to eat. The sushi is always excellent, and they're shrimp and filet is to die for. I know that finding good help in Lake City has been tough, and they have had to go through a couple of servers that were not so great, but if you get Christine, she's the absolute best!
My wife and I had 7-8 different rolls soups,seaweed salad, 4-5 different dips,house salad with there Signature Homemade dressing really good I could of put it on my boot eat it

Our waitress was quick with everything, and our order came out perfect and quick.
Very good service and excellent sushi, everything is homemade from soups, salad dressings and dipping sauces. This is not chain food, all freshly prepared.We will definitely be returning here on our next trip to Lake City.

The two young ladies that work here are very nice. I just had Yamatos for the first time a couple weeks ago and it was DELISHHH. Had to come back today for some more & my statement remains to be true. ☺️

The servings are the smallest I've ever seen outside of a buffet.I only ordered the sushi & sashimi. Sake comes out hot!Service was okay, but it felt like she was the new hire. (wasn't the case).Overall, the selections in the town are limited.I recommend the buffet down the street @ the mall.

I’ve been here in the past and had good service. Be warned that if you plan to use a gift card here it doesn’t give you the option to tip, and you will not get service, my husband and I waited for 45 mins before we finally got told that we wouldn’t be served unless it was a to go order since we plan on using a gift card.
