I stumbled across those place because of an app that I have that shows you breweries near by and I am so so happy I did! This place was perfect! The staff was beyond amazing and super knowledgeable! The bar tender helped me pick out two brews that I absolutely loved based on the small bit of information I gave him. The chill vibe was exactly what I love about craft breweries and have a hard time finding in my area. They had a great selection of veers, but not so much that's its overwhelming. I highly recommend this place to ANYONE who loves craft beers.

*** Update*** Carlos took his post down but we all knew he was the more logical one of the two. Jazmin keeps reposting her review so she can be the newest. Again, I was on vacation but feel so upset at the way she berated everyone there that I feel the need to update my post, so that other can see it was HER all along causing the issues!!***I'm on vacation and visited this place with a local resident. While there, I witnessed first hand (the table next to Carlos and Jazmin Marin) on January 1, 2024. Their daughter was throwing weighted shuffleboard stones around and almost hit people at my table. The bartender asked Carlos if he can please not let her throw the weighted stones, as it is dangerous. Jazmin came unglued and started throwing accusations around left and right. She then left but only to go outside. While outside she was flipping the bird, slapping her husband, honking her car horn and berating all around her. She then came charging back in. She was spewing all sorts of hate towards everyone. She was threating to call the police at the bartender, calling him a racist, and yelling every cussword in the book. After multiple attempts asking her to leave, the bartender finally called the police (for which Jazmin was threating to call the whole time). Thankfully after her last episode, the bar was peaceful and all were served from our friendly bartender. While finally sitting peacefully, the police called saying that Jazmin came to the station to file a complaint. Bold for someone obviously drunk to drive her young child to the police station. Not sure if they noticed the strong smell of alcohol on her breath but hopefully they didn't let her drive her child home that night. Hopefully when she sobers up, Jazmin can see the hindsight and take down her horrible rating of a brewery that serves locals and out of towners with friendly vibes.

I’ll open with that I’m glad to be a part of the family this bar has together of multicultural and multiracialbut people. But all one love and awareness for others. On New Years Day, a Latin couple came in with what I assumed to be, their toddler. After drinking for several hours, and watching the manager himself clean their area twice from food and debris. We all sat and watched the “parents” sit idly by as the baby throw food and metal towards other patrons. It was clear they didn’t respect their space; never mind even wondering if they respected the business. The manger very calmly told them they will have an issue if a customer was hit by her, as it narrowly almost happened seconds before. Well their entitlement kicked into over drive because as they left a little while later. But not after making a scene. Not only did they leave after 30-45 mins of a toddler shrieking top of their lungs, but they left their mess all over the floor. But this was only the first dramatic exit. After they left the building the first time, the wife/baby mama, came back into the bar and started to curse and insult the bar manager. Some generic comments of: “well are you kid friendly or not” and “don’t you see how old she is?!” Which was flabbergasting to yell out IN A BAR, drunk, and belligerent. But the female entitlement she was spewing was jaw dropping. She was remarkably comfortable making the scene she almost seemed to have rehearsed. Then the baby daddy walked back in, covered head to toe in ink, and tried to calm her. But it was clear who was in-charge quickly as once he saw she had everyone’s attention. He quickly switched to saying something also generic like “this is my daughter” or “this is my girl dog”and then turned around and almost fell holding the toddler on his way out. The hours of drinking before that is what made the bar nervous that a toddler was getting into a car with these people. The SECOND time they came in, they got nastier, and bar goers started told them to leave. Their entitlement and nervous energy being called out was ruining the start to everyone’s New Year. To which she yells and very comfortably threatened the business with the popular “YOU WATCH I’LL END YOUR BUSINESS AND TELL EVERYONE YOU ALL ARE A BUNCH OF RACISTS AND NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY! Watch Google!” Which was hilarious, as there was a newborn sitting quietly at the bar at the time, and white people were close to, if not, a minority at the time in the bar. Both walked out flipping the middle fingers, hollaring “racists racists” all while holding a child. Great imprint for the little one. But the safe space Dissent has set up, is an armor in downtown Lakeland. The police were called, and she sat in the drivers seat for 10-15 mins honking the horn, slapping baby daddy (while holding the toddler), and making a further scene outside just feet from the front door. Dissent does allow RESPECTFUL families in the bar, happens all the time. And never in the 2 years of going have I seen anyone great mistreated, or judged like these two racists were accusing. I think it was line 1800 at the time they were making their presence known too btw. Their hate for people, whites especially, was putrid and comfortable in their eyes. I can see her seething at the end of the bar after calling us all racists while typing this. And since we’re on it…NOT A SINGLE PERSON GOES TO A CRAFT BREWRY/BAR TO DEAL WITH ANYONE’S KIDS! NO ONE WANTS TO DEAL WITH KIDS IN A BARRR!!! WE LISTEN TO THEM SCREAM AND RUN AROUND GROCERY STORES, APT COMPLEXES, PARKS, NEIGHBORHOODS, SPORTING EVENTS…KEEP KIDS OUT OF THE F**KING BAR! HAVE A KID AND STILL WANT TO GO TO THE BARS AND PUBLICLY DRINK WITH THEM? STAY THE F**K AWAY IF YOU HAVE NO CLASS! OR CONDOMS/THE PILL. Stop making people deal with your kids America. We truly, and whole heartedly, don’t give a F**K.

Been spending more time in Lakeland and loved discovering Dissent. The beer choices were great and the staff is fantastic. Loved the feel of Dissent and they have a wide selection of beer and the best atmosphere. Will go back

The flavors are fun & new; one taste and you'll know you're in good hands. It's quiet, clean, and friendly; with lots of AC but not too much. Yer barman was friendly but not in your face. Pet friendly with friendly pets. The menu was small but with fun house creations. The most outlandish combination of flavors, name quality, and ABV was just what I was looking for and I figured this out after yer man made sure I had a taste. Would have preferred to Apple Pay which was not offered.

Moved here a year and a half ago and we found our home away from home. The staff always treats us with respect, knows our names and serves us with a smile. Dissent has a wide selection of beer and the best atmosphere.

Great local brewery located next to some fine eating establishment, which is good as they do not serve food beer and only beer. Everything on tap is their own. Lots to choose from if you can not find one that you like, then go next door and get a fruity drink. LOL. Remember that you can bring in your own food. So hit up one of the local eateries and walk on in. Friendly atmosphere will make you feel like home, only with plenty of beer taps. Enjoy!

Went yesterday with a large group and shortly after arriving were told by the bartender that we had all been over served already before getting there and they would not serve any more. None of us were even near over served, and about half were not drinking as they were designated drivers. We may have been lively but we were also the only people there. Do not recommend if you are looking for a group gathering.
