Fish City Grill

We love everything about Fish City! It is by far one our favorite restaurants in Lakeland. The food is always delicious, fresh and there is such a great variety of specials. The drinks are lovely and the service is always top notch. Thank you for serving our community . . . we will be back, over and over again!

Made reservations via Open Table and when er checked in; no table set up for a party of 8 and supposedly “they didn't know?” It was a Birthday Celebration and again no acknowledgement. Tables where we were seated and tables used HORRIBLE

Nice place. Solo so ate at the bar. Bar tender attentive. Had a nice meal. Could use a larger craft beer selection.

Lord have mercy! Dakota is the best bartender and server in Lakeland. The food is amazing, I always get the rainbow trout but everything on the menu is good.

The hostess was super friendly. Opened the door and greeted all guests coming and going. My server was Matt and he was on it. Drink refills prompt, Appetizers and entree timed perfectly. What I was going to get was the grouper sandwich with bacon and cheese and a side of fries, but that would put me to sleep on a lunch break. What I did get was the kale and spinach supergreens salad with salmon, quinoa, cranberries, almonds, tomatoes and white balsamic dressing. I added bleu cheese crumbles and it was soooo good. I don't know what the heck kind of cherry tomatoes they use bit they were DELICIOUS. Everything chopped finely. Great salad. Clam chowder I got was very tasty but I do.like mine a bit thicker, but I think that is just personal preference. Great experience here.

Tried the Fish City Grill for dinner. A good menu with many options. Service was good overall. Our dinners weren’t particularly hot (it wasn’t busy). Would try again.

We can’t say enough about the Fish City Grill staff! We have ordered takeout/delivery numerous times and they get it right every time. Our favorite dishes are the flounder with crab stuffing, Alabama catfish, and the herb crusted trout. We ask the staff to put side dishes in separate containers which they do. Our meals are carefully packed and come to our home ready to serve. Thank you Lance and staff! ?

First timer at Fish City and I can't say enough good things about my experience there!! Top Notch service by Bethany!!! She was absolutely amazing!! The food, omg the Tacos, I literally wanted 4 more! Everything from the moment we walked in, till the time we left, just superb!! I will 100% be back!!! I most definitely found my new favorite restaurant! If I could give Fish City and Bethany a 10 out of 10 I would! Great job!!!

Not sure who lying but this place served my gumbo cooler than Luke. it was less than tantalizing and the rest of the food wasn't worth rememberin. It could be me but how can you go wrong with shrimp. Maybe it can be enjoyable I'm just one person my visit can be a one off ??

This place was great. We got in just before the dinner crowd and left as it was packed. We both ordered fish & it was really Very Good. The service was good. We were sorry we hadn't eaten there the night before because the food was twice as good and the it was half the price. I'd certainly go back again.

Enjoyed cocktails at the bar with crab cake appetizer. Moved to large booth when additional friends arrived. The People—are wonderful. Bartender crafted our drinks to our specific taste; host saved our preferred booth upon request; server was kind and socially aware to be attentive but not interruptive. The Environment—a tad loud but particularly chosen because it would be the quietest of selections on a holiday weekend Friday night at prime dinner time. There were all ages from the tiniest baby nestled on her daddy’s shoulder to a sweet white-haired couple out for an early bite. The Food—words are not sufficient. Every bite is bursting with the exact amount of heat and the perfect spice blend. Starting with 2 dozen peel and eat shrimp that were each 100% perfect. 4 main dishes were top notch. But oh the sweets….no freezer burned stale boxed overpriced nonsense here - BREAD PUDDING, no one will judge you if you drink the sauce; chocolate heaven was fluffy and rich in just the right way; apple cobbler was the exact amount of not sweet. The Gumbo—gets its own category. The real thing! Enjoy, then ask for another cup and enjoy again!

To a fault, my husband and I are food snobs. It takes certain things for us to recommend and return to a restaurant. It takes a great deal to impress us. Yesterday we decided to try Fish City Grill and we were surprised by how much they were able to impress us.
We went for a late lunch. We were greeted and seated immediately. The lunch specials on a large board were pointed out to us.
Amy was our server. She was a delight; extremely friendly and helpful.
The crab and shrimp queso appetizer was loaded with meat. I only wish it was creamier, but the flavor was very good.
My husband had the lobster grilled cheese sandwich. He said he is ruined and will never be able to eat a normal lobster roll again. It had a good amount of meat, bacon and gooey cheese on garlic toast. It was fantastic! He had green beans which also were crunchy, tender and a great flavor.
I had the fried catfish and shrimp. The batter was perfectly crisp without taking away from the taste of the fish. The catfish was the cleanest tasting we'd ever had. Their Cole slaw is the perfect combination of vinegar and sweet. I'm a sucker for hush puppies and these are the best I've found in Polk County.
Hubby found a small piece of shell in his lobster; perfectly ok and proved it was real meat. The owner (who was also expediting the kitchen) saw him hold up something. He came to our table and made sure we were ok. Really?!? Not only is your service perfect, your food is fresh and delicious, you are expediting every order and you noticed what might have been a problem and immediately came to check? OUTSTANDING!!!
Also the prices are exceptionally reasonable. We've paid a lot more for a lot less. This will be our go-to from now on. It is more than worth the 45 minute drive for us.
