Got around to trying out MOJO. Wife and I visited for a late lunch and left full and happy. The smokiness fills the air as you walk into a gutted brick building. It has an industrial feel but perfect for BBQ. I had the sloppy MOJO. Not very sloppy so I added some extra Smoky Chipotle sauce. It also needed a bit of crunch so I added some red onion and pickles from my wife's BBQ hamburger. It took a good sandwich and elevated it. So FYI ask for pickles to be added. Overall food was smokey and extremely tasty. Onion rings were crispy and full of flavor.

We eat here regularly. The food and whiskey/bourbon are delicious. Best selection of whiskey/bourbon in Lakeland. Toni the bartender is top notch.. There new manager is also doing an awesome job.

Food is good, especially for bbq in Florida. Is the brisket going to rival somewhere in Texas or Franklins? No. Is it the best you'll find in Florida? Probably.

Have also eaten at the one in Gainsville and the food is consistent and the atmosphere is nice. My complaint is this... if you're going to have your menu on Uber Eats and you're going to offer drinks (soda, tea, etc.) then make sure your system prints it on the tickets and it actually gets made and sent with the driver. Twice now we've ordered, included drinks, only to have to ask for a refund from Uber because the drinks aren't printed on the receipt for the restaurant on the bag along with the rest of the food.

Worst bbq I’ve ever had. We got the “whole hog,” which is essentially all of their core bbq items. Everything was gross. The brisket seemed boiled and flavorless. The ribs were cold. Definitely one of those expensive bbq joints. Service and atmosphere were good, food was horrible.

I've had plenty of BBQ in my 57 years on this planet. This was the worst BBQ I believe I have ever had. Fist of all, hostesses, not very friendly upon arrival. It's like they were put out because they had another customer. Place was fairly empty but was put on a wait anyway? Then they rushed us after we ordered. Appetizer came out before drinks. Hadn't even touched the appetizer and the entree came out. It's like they were telling us, "eat and get out asap". Not anywhere near closing time. Keep in mind, we were very friendly and polite. Now for the entree. The cooks either don't care or are not paying any attention. Served us dry pulled pork. I've never had dry pulled pork, anywhere. Served us the most fatty, disgusting brisket I have ever had. I sent back a plate of fat. I mentioned the issue to the server. Her response, "I'm sorry. Hope it's better next time". GTFO. Are you serious?! That's your response?! Next time?! Probably won't be a next time honey. We were not looking for any freebies. We are not scammers that complain to get comps. It's just astounding the level of service these days and how no one seems to give AF. I have never had brisket this bad. Had to ask for the manager to remedy the issue. She was accomodating but hesitant......to please the customer! Stick with the side orders here. Onion rings are great. But overall, very disappointed. Going out these days is way more of a gamble than it used to be. People just don't care about your experience anymore. And they don't learn what good service is. Everyone is so put out in doing their job. Sad times. It's too bad because I like this place. Or did.

$14 for dry pulled chicken sandwich with no sauce whatsoever. I don’t know how you can call yourself a BBQ place and not have BBQ sauce???
Don’t recommend.

Overall a good experience. Second time eating in this restaurant. Love the look and the food was good. The waitress was pleasant and attentive. The only negative was the girl who sat us. Didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. Never made eye contact. Grabbed the silverware and menu, said “follow me,” again, no eye contact. Followed her to the table. She placed the menus and silverware on the table, and in a feeling bothered type attitude said “enjoy your meal” and walked away. Was hoping the manager would stop by during the meal to mention it but never did. A little more training would go a long way.
Everything else was great!

Great atmosphere, stellar service. On a Friday night. My daughter's Mojo sandwich looked and tasted amazing. The MOJO salad is gigantic (we got all the meats on it)!!! The onion rings were DELICIOUS (not greasy or overly battered). That being said, the 2 meat selection was entirely underwhelming in portion and taste. It's not even a full brisket slice. So, 4 thin brisket slices, cut in half length, and a tiny scoop, maybe 3-4oz of shredded pork shoulder. And you get to put some very watery, also underwhelming in taste, bbq sauce on it. We got cheddar grits. Cold. Mac n Cheese. Cold. Both okay, but Cold. The brisket wasn't pull apart-able per se, but tasted like it was a sliced Dak ham consistency. It was really weird. I think whatever isn't eaten gets chopped up for their delicious gigantic salad. My husband got the triple meat size. So, 4 full slices of food (brisket) I didn't envy getting and 2 ribs that looked like the perfect counterpart to the brisket.
Also, after all that being said, come back for those great things mentioned, but I'd pass on the 'que. And try other things.

The place is beautiful and the server was very nice. The onion rings and ranch were amazing. The thing I did not like was all the different meats we had did not have any smoke flavor. BBQ should have some smoke.

01Jan25. Went to visit for the first time with a couple of friends, but they've been there a few times. We sat at the bar, which had about 5 other people outside of the 3 of us. Throughout our visit it still remained hat many people. The server stated that they've been rather busy. We ordered fried pickles, with special instructions to shake off excess grease, came out as requested. They were really good perhaps the best I've had, not overly breaded. I then ordered the salmon, I told the server grilled not blackened Mac and cheese (which they didn't have). Substitute for corn and ordered collard geeens but got black eyed peas instead. I'm not sure how she missed those details especially asking me directly, stood right in front of me. She only checked in on us once. And her mood was blah. It seemed like she was more busy with other tasks that didn't involve customers. Never had my water or Dr Pepper refilled. She also seemed annoyed that I switched seats at the bar. I did like how it looked inside with exposed bricks and had a nice full bar. And had a little lounge area right in the front. I would go back again.

The ribs had a funky taste that was gross, fishy. The corn bread was old and hard. Food was lukewarm, seemed like it had been sitting around.

I love coming to Mojo Federal at least once or twice a month. For an appetizer the Burnt Ends are a hit almost every time, but sometimes on an off day will be either too hard in texture or too salty but 8/10 times they are absolutely perfectly cooked and divine. My go-to meal is their Salmon salad with Blackened Salmon, and it’s also a great place to drink with their full menu available at the bar and a decent selection of wine. Perfect ambience indoors and also dog friendly on their outdoor patio!

Overall, it was okay. Brisket was not pulled and tender, it was sliced and dry. However, the spare ribs were good, and drinks were great. BBQ sauces on the table were also just okay. The sweet and mustard were the only ones we liked, and even those weren't extraordinary. Atmosphere felt a little awkward, not as intimate as we prefer.
