I just had a truly BIZARE encounter with the owner. There was a comment made on Instagram about how the place has gone in a weird direction since it sold. Mack (the owners husband) responded to it defending the new owners. I said “looks like the new owner found you” and he lied and said he was not the owner. Even though he had in his bio that they were married. After I pointed that out he deleted it and all of his comments. It was so weird. What’s wrong with claiming your business? The sad part is the vibes really are so bad now. Probably because you have a liar in charge. Luckily I took screenshots so no one could try to lie about it again after.
Would not recommend pressed. It was once a great, welcoming place but not since new ownership. I made a comment about the changes and the owner got defensive and then claimed they weren’t the owner? It was so bizarre because when you look up the business he’s clearly listed as the owner of the LLC. Why pretend you don’t own the business when someone makes a suggestion? I’ve spent thousands at pressed when Christina was the owner, but I will sadly never return.
This place is such a cute little coffee / book store. It's a whole vibe and it's tucked away . But a great little gem!

Pressed was my favorite place in town. It was one of my favorite places to stop on Saturday mornings and with my nephew for story time. It had a loving, accepting, diverse environment. Ever since there has been a new owner and Christina left it has not been the same. I’m always open to new ideas and expanding things but it has really gone downhill and in SUCH a short period of time. I’m worried because Christina put so much time and effort in to making pressed feel like a place everyone belonged and to see a new owner not really embrace that has been so strange and makes me worried for the future of the shop as so many regulars like myself probably won’t be returning. The baristas were the first ones in Lakeland that learned mine and my family’s names when we moved to town so we love them but I don’t know how long they will all continues to be there at this point. So sad. Was such a gem under Christina’s ownership.

Pressed used to be super cool. Idk if it’s new management or something but like… the vibes are off man. Idk but after the old owner packed up and took off it just felt different. Felt more like a business chain than a family. Bad enough to where baristas started quitting. Or got fired. Idk but that cheddar bagel still slaps. I might come back for one, probably won’t idk. Best of luck to new management, gonna be hard to recreate that vibe

This is a quaint coffee shop / bookstore in downtown Lakeland. I enjoy the drinks and atmosphere here. It’s also a nice spot to check up on the most current novels and find some affordable used books! I highly recommend for any local bookworms!😊📚

I love this bookstore. I've been going to work and the vibe is so nice. Coffee is on point. The have diverse books which to me is extremely important. The baristas are friendly and helpful. Mandy took the extra mile to remember my name. These are the small things that make this bookstore one of my fave. They got my $$.

Pressed really is the total package of cutest / coziest / tastiest. It’s a great pop-in downtown spot for a latte and a baked good.

I ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese, a matcha lemonade, a matcha latte, and a caramel macchiato. The bagel had way too much fennel and had so many seeds that I felt like I dropped it in a bird cage, but the whipped cream cheese was good. The latte and macchiato had too much milk for what they were. The matcha lemonade tasted nothing like lemonade and it reminded me more of water from a fish cooler. I know this review sounds bad, but I’ve had worse. I would say this place is average. I did like the ambiance, but it was too loud for it being a bookshop.

Love this little bookstore and cafe in Lakeland. My kids and I will play a few rounds of Scrabble and browse the new and used book sections whenever we can. I came here the day after they were vandalized not realizing what had happened. The staff was friendly and accommodating as always. We got to support small businesses like these in Lakeland. ??
