I went to Taco Bus on Taco Tuesday really craving some good tacos and left completely disappointed.

First of all, for being a taco place, they don’t even have a Taco Tuesday special. This was my first time at this location, and when I ordered, they asked if I wanted a soft or hard tortilla. I chose soft, expecting corn tortillas like any authentic taco spot. Instead, they brought me flour tortillas with cabbage and a plain pico de gallo that had no flavor.

The empanada was fine, but the tacos were honestly terrible. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican tacos, this is definitely not the place. The restaurant itself looks nice, but the food leaves a lot to be desired.

This toastada looks like it lost a bar fight on the way to my plate. Two dry tortillas, a sad little smear of beans that crumbled like desert sand, and toppings so poorly placed they didn’t even bother to land on the tortilla. Honestly, more cheese and pico made it into the takeout box than onto the toastada itself. It’s less “Mexican street food” and more “Pinterest fail.” The lime wedge was the only thing with any dignity, but even it looked embarrassed to be here. Calling this a toastada is generous—at best, it’s a tortilla participation trophy.

You gotta go a few times to figure out the menu. I love the fish taco and my husband loves the nachos! Huge potions, always walk away stuffed.

The tacos were great. My only 2 complaints:
They use pickled Jalapenos.
The room is an echo chamber that somehow increases the volume with each bounce. If there are any kids there, take your food home or you'll regret it.
