The absolute BEST southern comfort food, ambiance of old Florida, and historic building in an incredible town. Marsh Landing is a MUST for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! There has never been food that we haven’t loved- our favorites being pot pie and fried chicken and fried okra. The cornbread is to die for, and the service is always spectacular! One of our favorite local secrets by far!
Best fried shrimp in Florida! Wait staff is attentive and friendly and prices are pre Trump!
horrible food and service
We have been dining here often. We drink, spend money, tipped well. More then many there. However, we will never return after tonight. Thursdays are busy, there is music. You need reservations. We made reservations the previous Thursday when there. Told you can’t reserve specific tables. But you can see people get their same tables every week. Asked for the table that we were at. Told sorry you can’t reserve a specific table. So we get there at approximately 5:30. They have our reservation. Several empty tables including the one we had the previous week. We are led to the very back of the dining room. behind a post with no view of the musicians. I ask for the empty table we sat at the week before. There are several other empty tables as well. . Told nope, you can’t have that table. or any of the other empty tables. Soooo…if we have a reservation, but you can’t reserve a specific table, and are placed when you get there, who gets the empty tables. Waitress that tried to seat us in the back said you can’t sit at of the other empty tables, and no you can’t reserve them. We called our friends and told them not to come and we left. Nope ?, don’t like being lied to and treated like that. Nor should you. Plenty of other places to go to.
First time here this evening with my husbands Christmas dinner with work.Company was amazing. The food was incredible and I had this drink called swamp water.Oh man I wish I had the recipe for that swamp water.Definitely will be going back.
I went to Marsh Landing restaurant for Thanksgiving with my husband and his family with a total of 12 people. Our server was rude and it was a very disappointing experience overall. Our waitress should not have had any other tables while trying to take care of our large-party table because we definitely felt forgotten in the separate back room. We sat down at 5pm and by 5:40pm, our waitress had still not taken our food order. Two of the appetizers we ordered were out of stock, which was disappointing. The salads were literally 2 pieces of lettuce, absolutely embarrassing to call that a “salad”. The plates were pretty much thrown on the table in front of us. Our waitress did not come back to check on us after the appetizers were brought out and by then, everyone’s drinks were empty. By the time our waitress did come back, we had to stop her to ask for a full round of drink refills. I was charged $1.95 for a tiny side of gravy, on Thanksgiving! Once we finally got our meals and finished, our waitress did not even offer any coffee or dessert. She just threw down the check and at that point, we were more than happy to get out of there. We will absolutely not be coming back to this restaurant after such a rude and disappointing experience.
This is a great spot to eat. Lots of local dishes and located in a very small town with great atmosphere.
We’re told by a waitress in another restaurant that Marsh Landing made the best key lime pie. My husband agreed. This was our first time here. We went for breakfast. Our server, Laura, was wonderful. She was efficient and gave us a friendly smile each time she checked up on us. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with an egg on top. My husband had the breakfast burrito with a side of grits. We were not disappointed. The price was very reasonable. Thank you, Laura for giving us a pleasant experience.
Had a great time admiring the eclectic decor Lunch was good The chocolate peanut butter pie was to die for Service was great
Vastly overrated place. We found the food snd service not up to our rice rations. They tried hard but doorsteps tge kitchen was not organized. I sm dirty but it was embarrassing gur me as I invited friends gur an undatidfactorynexietience. I do nit believe I will give another chance here either
Restaurantji Recommends
We've eaten at Marsh Landing for dinner a few times after rowing competitions held nearby. The staff is always attentive and the food is great. The baby back ribs are moist and tender. I'd also recommend the fried chicken. My son also tried gator here for the first time and now orders it whenever we come back. The restaurant has an Old Florida vibe and is located in a historic building that once served as the headquarters for the Florida Sugar Crystals Co. Don't expect "fine dining" by modern standards. Marsh Landing is a historical throwback. The experience is what you'd expect if you walked into a Florida restaurant 60 years ago.
Family brunch at Thanksgiving 2022 - very disappointed high prices and very small portions. Hot food was not hot
A friend took my husband and I to Thanksgiving Day dinner. She’s just moved to the area and still unpacking. She made a reservation several days ahead of time at Marsh Landing. We were brought to a table by the entrance to the kitchen. As servers were walking in and out of the kitchen, there was maybe a foot or two from where we would be sitting. We asked the hostess if we could sit in the room where there were tables with white tablecloths. The hostess returned a few minutes later and brought us to a table in the next room. Our server, Doris J., came by almost immediately and asked what we would like to drink. She was not friendly, just businesslike. We placed our orders and were disappointed with our dinners when they arrived. The turkey dinner my husband and I both ordered was warm, the mashed potatoes were runny and the green beans overcooked. The turkey and gravy were good just not hot. My friend got the Ham dinner and ate half, it was just not hot. Doris asked if we wanted dessert and we all ordered pie. She walked away so quickly we were unable to order coffee. After Doris brought our pie out, we asked about ordering coffee. She replied “No one has asked for coffee so there’s not any made.” She walked away and we were unsure if she was getting coffee or not, figured out when she brought the bill, no coffee. Doris had a scowl on her face no matter what table she was serving. She was curt and unfriendly. We will never go to Marsh Landing again.
Liquor choices very limited ( no Dewars scotch) bottle of unknown Pinot Grigio. ($30 a bit of a rip-off)soup special VG, ( could have been hotter) , side salad small,,Turkey dinner( thanksgiving- excellent ) surprise no apple pie, no cappuccino, service top notch. Dinner $25.95, (dessert not included ) BUT, we Will return (as other prices on menu look more reasonable)
To say that this was the best Cajun food east of Louisiana would be an understatement! Starting with Ian at the host desk, he’s professional and polite. Stephanie was a great waitress, as were the support staff! We had the Caesar salad, and split the shrimp and grits with okra, corn bread, and Mac and cheese. The shrimp and grits was better than I have had in Nawlins! We will definitely be going back. My only suggestion would be that we weren’t half done with our salad when dinner arrived so next time I will have our server hold off on delivering our food until we get a chance to finish our salad.
