My wife got a chicken dish that was overcooked and she left over 1/2 of it on her plate. My 42 dollar ribeye that I ordered medium came out rare and very fatty. I took over half of it home for the dogs. My red potatoes were cold and had no seasoning. The best part of the meal was the salad. They got my 200 bucks but only once. I really want to have a good place to eat in Live Oak.

Took a date night to The 406 last night - first time back since remodel/new owners. And we were not disappointed!! From the hostess quickly seating us due to our online reservation to the prompt and courteous service throughout our evening from our waitress, Melina. We ordered the 14oz ribeye and it came out perfect and flavorful. My wife got the 406 Mac n’ Cheese and oh my gosh was it sooo good - shrimp and crab meat inside. We swapped plates several times between the two.
We boxed up half the plate and headed towards dessert and were happy with our selections here too. Melina was very eager to recommend some house favorites so we went with the decadent cheesecake flight and I got the key lime pie. Loved eating what we could and boxed half of that up too.
The 406 can swing either way as far as fine dining for a special occasion or just heading there casually for dinner dressed down.
Shoutout to our waitress Melina and the GM, Sydney, who checked on the quality of everything and how our evening was going on multiple occasions.
WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND - and make reservations via their website before going. Last night was packed, including outside at 40° (with portable heaters all over).

This is one of the most unique restaurants I’ve been to. Set in an old house, the staff was very friendly. I was traveling for business, so I came alone. I sat at the bar and ordered the house old fashioned, which comes with Bulleit bourbon, which is acceptable to me. It contains only orange bitters, so I had the bartender add some chocolate bitters to offset that flavor a touch, because it’s not my favorite. I ordered the happy hour conch fritters. I give them a C+. They taste like there was something else fried in that oil that slightly overpowered the taste of the fritter. The dipping sauce was phenomenal. For my entree I chose the shrimp (blackened) alfredo. I really enjoyed it. The sun-dried tomatoes in there really added some diversity to the flavor pattern. The shrimp were tender and juicy. I would totally get this again. My nightcap for a drink was the maple old fashioned. It was a touch sweet, but I had it as a dessert drink so it was perfect. Based on my total dining experience, I would recommend this place and will eat here again when I travel here for business.

Had a great time Saturday night at The 406. The atmosphere was very chill. The filet was so tender and juicy it was so amazing. Sydney was right when she recommended the cheesecake. It melted in my mouth. She was an excellent server and really took care if us. The manager insisted we stay and listen to the live music afterwards, and I'm glad she did. She made sure we had a wonderful night. Can't wait until next weekend. Best time I've had in a while.

Just ate there last night for the second time. The first time we ate there two of our friends introduced us to the place. We brought the original friends and two of our friends for this last visit. The food is very good. The service is beyond excellent. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. Love this place would highly recommend

I have been to 406 in the past and really loved it but I went on 10/17/25 for my son's birthday and was completely disappointed. We had a party of 9 and waited 2 hours for our food and when it started to come out everything was cold. The man who was in charge, I guess, handled the situation badly when we were angry about the situation. I am not paying $42 a plate for cold food I waited two hours for and it ruined my son's birthday dinner. I can't say I'll come back again and I also have told many about 406 but I will not recommend them anymore. I can say I left there and went just down the road to Fuego Azteca Mexican bar and grill and they saved my son's birthday.

Had a great meal tonight for my daughter‘s birthday. She got the filet and I got the grilled grouper (without blackening) and it was great and she loved her steak. Beautiful night to sit out behind the deck in the garden area.
Really nice place live music good food . Last time we went I didn't make a reservation and I stayed waiting for 30 min no body get to my table we decided to go . First time this happened to me at this place . So just remember to do the reservation ahead of time. But is one of the best places around .

We went for a car show and concert for Whosoever South. Went into the 406 and ordered fried green tomatoes. Best I've ever had. We ordered 2 more orders to go. Loved the beautiful inside decor. It reminded me of a plantation home off Gone With the Wind. Just beautiful ❤️

The wagyu ribeye was beyond excellent. Cooked perfectly and needed no A1 or Worcestershire sauce. Grouper blackened was also great. Conch fritter were perfect. Desert was great as well. Service was something you would expect at somewhere like capital grill or mortons. We plan on coming back.
