Nic & Luc Scratch Kitchen and Commissary

On Tuesday, three of us had brunch at Nic and Luc’s Scratch Kitchen in Longwood. I had the Standard Breakfast with eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. Best scrambled eggs I’ve had in a long time! Bacon was cooked perfectly. Potatoes were excellent. My friends had the Hot Porkstrami Sandwich and the Burrito Bowl. Both of which they thoroughly enjoyed and even took home what they couldn’t finish. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant interior is simple but cute and comfortable. We will definitely be returning!

Great prices, healthy creative food options!! Also have a good selection of coffee and teas.

There are places that are consistently good, then there is that rare gem that is great and somehow gets even better with time. Our go-to spot for brunch! You can tell they use premium ingredients and are Masters of their craft.

My family and I have been weekly patrons for over 5 years and LOVE everything about Nic & Luc’s. ! This is a family owned and run business where they know you by name and truly care about your experience. The food is consistently delicious and the service - excellent. We just wish they had a bigger space so more people could enjoy the great food and atmosphere.

Nic and Luc is our go to for a delicious breakfast, great atmosphere, friendly service, and unique pastries. The staff is always kind and helpful and the food never disappoints. The pastries are always delicious and never too sweet. This place is ALWAYS worth a visit!

Great hidden breakfast place! Try the lavender vanilla latte it was perfectly balanced. That shrimp and grits was AMAZING!!

I’ve recently came across this scratch kitchen and I have nothing but positive things to say! The owner is down to earth and was very informative about what/how everything is made, and I was able to have substitutions with no issue. I was told that on Saturdays they do pastries, so I’ll have to come back and try!

NOT CELIAC OR GLUTEN SENSITIVE SAFE!!!!

Items on menu that are labeled GF AREN’T! They use store bought sauces from Costco now instead of making them from scratch like they used to. I was sick for DAYS after eating here (and blamed it on something else since I was assured my meal was safe). When I came back to eat here again, I was told by someone that everything I tried to order (that was marked GF on the menu) was not actually okay for me because they “changed the sauces they use”. Apparently only some of the staff were updated about the change. ??‍♀️

Takeaway - they stopped making things from scratch and are using store bought sauces that contain non GF items. They are cutting corners, making people sick, and don’t seem to care! The menu has not been updated to reflect this change - that is illegal! I got ZERO apology for the prior error and literal poisoning on my previous trip. I left without ordering anything this time and will not be returning.

Enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Nic and Luc. The food was fresh, clean, and locally sourced. The owner took pride in all of his dishes. PRO TIP- they started as food manufacturer, get a jam or sauce to enjoy at home.
