The food and service were absolutely amazing!!! The lobster roll was my favorite, a close second were the scallops! Our server was so kind and helpful - would definitely go back to eat here if I get to Madeira Beach again!!!

We went here for dinner on the last day of our vacation. We chose the Pirates burger and the fish and chips. The burger was nothing special....too much bun in my opinion and didn't really have a lot of flavor, which was very disappointing, especially after reading other reviews. Now that Fish and Chips is a whole different story. Being from Illinois this is the kind of fish you find in bars on Fridays for their fish frys. This was delicious!! You get two pieces of cod and they are not small! Fries were good, coleslaw needs improvement. Our server was nice. Would definitely return if ever in this area again.

Absolutely loved the 2025 burger week burger!!!! Great service!!! A Must-have burger!!! It is the BEST burger of the burger week!!! Such unique taste with the elote! Delicious patty! Perfect cheese. The bun was great! The perfect amount of everything that went together perfectly! Mouth watering! Truly a culinary work of art!

Pirates Pub and Grub in John’s Pass, Madeira Beach has always had a welcoming vibe. Every time I walked in, I was greeted with a smile, and the majority of the staff were absolutely amazing attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. That kind of energy is what keeps people coming back.
Unfortunately, one staff member in particular really stood out for the wrong reasons. I believe his name was Andrew. From the moment I sat at the bar, his attitude was cold and disinterested. He talked more about working at Applebee’s than the place he was actually clocked in at and honestly, it showed. The drinks he served were poorly made, lacking both care and quality. What was most concerning, though, was his hygiene. Watching him handle cherries with bare, unwashed hands to do some unimpressive bar trick was a major red flag. It was more off-putting than entertaining.
To make it worse, even the new staff in training seemed more invested in creating a good experience than he did. If someone doesn’t care about their job, it becomes obvious and sadly, that’s the case here.
I truly enjoy the vibe of Pirates and the rest of the team Amber, Jered, Maria, Hollie, Ian and I believe their guy training was Gabe , but as long as that Andrew guy is working, I won’t be back. Feeling unwelcome is one thing; questioning whether your bartender is being sanitary is another.

Stopped in for a small bit. OMG!!! Coconut shrimp, bacon burger, and regular cheese burger, all with fries. Perfectly cooked our way. OUTSTANDING!! Please stop by and see Andrew or Ian for your next meal or a cold beer. We will be stopping back, soon.
