Fantastic place to go for Breakfast, Brunch or Lunch.
The food is very tasty and portions are great.
The variety of traditional American dishes is amazing. I am sure you will find something to tempt your taste buds.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
We had a thoroughly lovely brunch.

Went here on a recommendation by a work colleague, driving up from Boca. It wasn’t worth the drive…
When my wife and I arrived, we got seated promptly—off to a good start! But it took more than a couple of minutes to get menus. Then it took more than a few minutes to get started with coffee and have our breakfast order placed. The place wasn’t busy, so it just felt inattentive.
The coffee is watery at John G’s, among the weakest coffees I’ve ever had at a breakfast place. It was served in a carafe, that was nice for quick refills.
The wait staff misfired again by trying to deliver to us the meals that belonged to the booth next to us. We got that fixed, thankfully.
The (correctly delivered) food was good; I had Eggs Benedict, my wife a Greek Omelette. We split blueberry pancakes but the blueberries were tasteless (like frozen berries often are) and served with fake maple syrup (although I asked about getting pure maple syrup—the waitress said she’d check to see if pure was available but never came back to say, “No, we only serve fake syrup”).
Getting our bill took too long. When I surrendered my credit card, no settlement check came back after we waited about ten minutes—I had to request my credit card back and the waitress just gave me another copy of my bill! Not a big deal if this was the only service misfire but it was the last of many.
In short, I came because the place has a long history operating in South Florida. But, it was a one-and-done experience for my wife and me.

This is my father's favorite restaurant! When we came to visit we could see why!! The breakfast is incredible!! They also were so sweet and sent a birthday message to him!! Staff is great too!!

What a shame. This used to be the best breakfast in the area; no more. Poor service, mediocre food, and it's overpriced. You can tell that many other customers realize what happened, because the place used to have wait lines out the door. Now, there aren't many customers mid-morning. Miss the ex-owners!
What a wonderful place for breakfast! The dishes are rich in delicious food, the fruits are actually fresh cut, and the coffee is good and hot. There are lots of butter and jam on the table, so butter is not frozen. They bring a thermal bottle of coffee for each table. And the prices are very fair. We are always coming back here, and chef Laurent kept tge high quality of this place!

I have watched the steady decline of this place over the last 8 months. The quality has gone down, the portions have become smaller. It’s sad to see a known establishment plummit under due to new ownership. A line around the corner is no more !

Food was great but the atmosphere not so much. Lots of yelling coming from the kitchen, the host or maybe the owner slamming things around and yelling at staff. Made it a very uncomfortable meal.

I have been eating here for years, since it uses to be at the casino on the beach, and the shrimp is no way as good. Over breaded and way over cooked! They are too dark and tough, we could barely pull the tail off: Attached is an OLD photo of what the shrimp used to look like, just in case the restaurant sees this. I felt the platter and the fish, clams, scallops are still great and breaded well. But the shrimp- my reason for going are not as good as they used to be. Sad. I think they seem smaller and they are overbreading.

Had the most delicious breakfast with friends today at John G's. Our server, Erica, was perfectly attentive. The food was delicious and Marc, the Manager, came to our table to say hello, and to make sure everything was okay. We can't wait to come back!!!

We have come to John G’s for the past 30+ years on trips to Florida. They have the best breakfast you can get - especially the French toast. Great service and atmosphere as well.
