This is a hole in the wall that serves fantastic food at decent prices. You stand line, order your food and then they page you on an loud speaker. You dine on wooden picnic tables. Watch the tarpon, seagulls and pelicans. It's no frills and absolutely great dining!
This is the spot in Marathon for fresh seafood. You wait in a line outside and even though it seems long, they're FAST. There are several big named restaurants in Marathon who serve frozen food (they call it fresh. It's not) and ANY person with an ok palate can tell. The mediocre offerings are legion in the Keys.... The Fisheries isn't one. They're always on-point. Sit on a picnic table near the dock or go upstairs and have a drink at the bar while you eat....
I had the Blackened Mahi on a bun, it was a great sandwich. The Star at night is the feeding of the fish, they feed sharks, tarpon, grouper and some smaller fish. They use the scraps left from cleaning their fresh fish.
