Visiting from VA, decided to look up some good Mexican spots in Marathon, although it was rainy and cold decided to try Takeria La Palapa, and my oh my! This was the best experience! I told the person that took my order if he could recommend anything and he said “everything is good” and I was like… hmmm ok… and then he continued and said that they make their own tortillas and the chicken, chorizo, asada and carnita tacos were really good and let me tell you, he wasn’t lying. My friend ordered the chicken quesadilla with rice and beans and she gives a 10/10! The corn cup was out of this world good! I would make it a trip back to Marathon just to eat their food again!

This is a meal not to miss if you’re going through Marathon. La Palapa was excellent. The menu, the freshness and the wonderful staff. Everyone is so friendly! The food is amazing. We placed a LARGE order to pick up later in the day. La Palapa was so accommodating - the order was ready and all the extras were packed up for us to grab and go. The food was amazing and always a nice presentation. Everything is homemade with the freshest of ingredients. These really are the best tacos that I have had in the Keys. I STRONGLY recommend a visit to the taco stand.
