Don't be fooled by a food truck this place is very authentic. The food is outstanding and they always have great specials so you can try something different. The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of the food. You can tell the food is homemade and made with love. I can't say anything more other than if you like good quality home style Mexican food this place is a must try! I can't go to marathon without stopping there! Delicious food, beautiful hard-working folks and fast/friendly service. We tried 3 different tacos (shrimp, carne asada and al pastor), and a chicken quesadilla, plus tortilla chips and guacamole. Everything was incredibly delicious and came out super fast. We’ll definitely come back here!

Stopped here as we were driving by around 3pm on a Tuesday. Food was amazing got a variety of tacos and a asada torta and salsas. Authentic food and nice seating area that is shaded. Got our food within 10 minutes. Would highly recommend!

Was looking for some lunch and the city of Marathon had lost power, so a lot of restaurants in the area were closed or only excepting cash, (we went to a few spots). We rolled up to La Palapa and they were open. The owner was the nicest guy ever, he had his kiddo working with him and a few ladies in the back. We placed our order and the food came up two minutes later. It was AMAZING. Hot fresh delicious and the portions were huge. We got a mix of tacos. We got chicken, carnitas, and carne. Also got chips and guacamole which was also awesome. Finishing with a 4 pack of churros and some Paradise Flavors coconut ice cream bars, they are another local ice cream shop in the area. Come see these guys. They deserve every bit of business they get. OUTSTANDING.

In the keys… most places are looking to take your money and give you as little as possible. This place is amazing!!!! GREAT portions, deliciously made. GREAT prices, and fast. I’d give 6 stars. It’s really that good!!!! I hope they do great for a long time to come!!

Wife and I are on vacation here in Marathon and we did a Google search of best burritos in area and this was one of the options, pictures looked good and it was super close to our hotel so we gave them a try and WOW amazing food - we got burritos and they were big and full super fresh ingredients can tell by the taste and texture! Almost didn't stop as we were hoping for indoor seating and it's a food truck with attached tiki hut dining area - we took ours to go and loved every bite! Must try if your in Marathon!

True hidden gem in Marathon. It’s a roadside food truck- but don’t let that fool you, the food and service are top- notch. The guy working there (owner?) was super friendly- made us feel welcome right away.
The burritos were packed and flavorful, and the taco salad was honestly one of the best I’ve had. Everything tasted fresh and was made with care. Only downside- the steak in the burrito was a bit mushy and the guac could’ve used more avocado- but neither took away from how good the overall meal was.
If you’re passing through Marathon, definitely stop here. It’s quick, delicious, and the kind of local spot that makes you glad you pulled over.
