First let me say this has always been our go to breakfast place for the last 7 years when in Marathon. This year we were very disappointed. The cheeseburger omelet was my husband's favorite but this time they seriously dropped the ball. It was cooked all wrong. It contained jalapeños that are not an ingredient, missing the cheese, small portioned, and NO special seasoning. I ordered eggs over medium so the whites were fully cooked, ended up with runny whites anyway. The cook was clearly overwhelmed. The place was packed and he had 20 tickets lined up. This was not a good experience.
The food and staff are fantastic! We had the best experience with the chef while we were sitting at the counter. 10/10 recommend!
good breakfast, gets really busy. service can be hit or miss but they work really hard to serve everyone

Cute little hole in the wall restaurant, but food was not that great and was expensive for what you got. The best part about the meal was the eggs were cooked perfectly. However, the biscuit was hard to cut from being overcooked, the sausage patties were mushy, and the pancakes were just slightly bigger than silver dollar pancakes and very thin for $8. I was hoping and expecting more. Then, to top it off, the waitress originally overcharged, and that had to be adjusted. I don't mind paying extra for good food, but this was not it. If you go, watch the bill and maybe try an omelet.

We ordered the biscuits & gravy, and meat lovers omelet, and coffee. Weakest coffee ever, sausage and bacon were flavorless, and the biscuits were tough and hard. Overall a big disappointment.

WOW ‼️ where to begin, I am not one to leave bad reviews, because I know how hard everyone works to keep up with a restaurant, but I will never set foot here again, the food was not bad, but the service, was absolutely annoying, we were on the verge of getting up and walking out, but again, I'm not that kind of person and insult working people, but at least we've tried it once

When we arrived, we were told to wait for a table, which was fine. However, Marie then told us to sit down, only for another employee to tell us to get up because others were ahead of us. After finally being seated, I ordered my meal, but when the food arrived, my eggs were missing. The server insisted I hadn’t ordered them, though I definitely had. When I asked her to place the order, she refused, saying the kitchen couldn’t accommodate it—something I’ve never experienced before. Fortunately, Tory, the chef, stepped up without hesitation, even while handling multiple orders. Meanwhile, Marie lacks basic customer service skills and shouldn’t be serving. Give Tory a raise—he deserves it. We definitely won’t be back to this establishment. Highly recommend the stuffed pig or the cracked conch cafe down the road for consistent great service and food. Don’t waste your time/money here.

My daughter and I heard that the food was good here from more than one person. We went to give it a try and we expected for it to be busy we were asked to wait on the bench outside until a table opened and she would come and get us , which was fine. Then a couple walked in shortly after us and was seated and then there was 3 more seated. Well we left the service is bad and I feel they were rude. We went down the street to the stuffed pig and service and food was great
The food is very good. The local feel of a Mom and Pop diner. I had breakfast consisting of veggie omelette, fried potatoes and a very fluffy biscuit. Staff is very friendly. Will return!

Over crowded and understaffed. Waitress was not nice and orders were wrong. Very disappointed. Banana bread was delicious.

Blonde cashier, proceeds to set cash down, then grabs two slices of bread to put in toaster. Cook sets order slip directly onto pancake. All of this seen in span of 3 minutes sitting at bar in front of kitchen. Needless to say I decided to leave, to their defense it was super busy but apparently that’s normal here.

Typical American, quite a commotion inside. It is difficult to find an order to sit down.

We’ve been going to the Wooden Spoon for a few years. This time we were disappointed. The service was great, but our food was cool, not really hot and slightly warm at best. Some bacon was burnt and some undercooked. The hash browns were literally burnt. I know there were For Sale signs in the window last year, so maybe it’s under new ownership. The waitress was great, but with so many choices for breakfast in Marathon, this was our last visit.
