Nice staff and relaxed dining. The food was tasty. The turkey does have a strong, smokey taste that might take getting used to for some. The portions are just right. My spouse was happy with his chicken.

Visited Sonny’s BBQ on February 9, 2026 and the experience was bad enough that we left without ever being seated.
There was no hostess present at all when we arrived—no greeting, no instructions, no acknowledgment of customers waiting at the door. While we stood there trying to figure out what was going on, a large group walked in, took it upon themselves to write their own name in the sign-in book, and were effectively allowed to cut the line.
To make it worse, two additional groups were spoken to and handled before us, despite the fact that we had been waiting longer. This wasn’t subtle—it was obvious, unfair, and completely avoidable if anyone had been doing their job.
The front-of-house operation was chaotic, poorly managed, and dismissive of customers’ time. No one checked in, no one clarified the process, and no one offered even a basic apology. Customers should not have to compete for attention or guess how seating works in a restaurant.
We finally walked out, and honestly, that was the best decision of the night. If management can’t handle something as basic as a waiting list and greeting guests, they shouldn’t be surprised when people leave and don’t come back.
Extremely disappointed. This location seriously needs new management or serious retraining—because this level of service is unacceptable.

Waited several minutes and no one ever came to seat us. 3 different employees passes by us and said that someone would be there shortly. Never happened, so we went somewhere else to eat.

Stopped in after a trip to a local attraction. We had a great server, very pleasant and offered some nice recommendations on the sides. My wife's sweet carolina pork sandwich was good, the green beans, baked beans and cole slaw were all fine. Unfortunately, the spare ribs and brisket were pretty awful, dry and overcooked (maybe even from the previous day). Too bad the food doesn't match the service.

Tonight we had smoked turkey and ribs. Probably the best BBQ we have ever had in all of our travels!!!!! Our waitress, Tammy, was absolutely delightful. If you’re ever in Marianna Florida….go to Sonny’s BBQ. Highly recommend!!!!

I have eaten at several Sonnys BBQs in many different places but this location hit differently. The service was friendly and efficient but when the food came out it tasted so much better than other locations. The pulled pork was prepared with flavor and some spice. The tater tots had some spice too and ere perfectly fried. Had a long drive ahead of us but this meal hit the spot!

Bree our waitress, was amazing and attentive! The food was great with the exception of the baby back rib slab, they were tough but were replaced immediately when brought to the servers attention. It was a great experience!
