We went to the Yucatan for dinner & I cannot tell you how disappointed we were. I’ve been one other time & thought it was just okay. But gave it another shot for dinner since I heard good things. We understand that it was busy but rudeness, lack of service, & disgusting food are not okay. (Valet & the views are the only reason I gave two stars, everything else is a zero.) We were seated promptly with a reservation. Then it went downhill. It took over 30 minutes for our rude waitress to acknowledge us. We asked for water & ordered drinks & oysters. Another 30 minutes & the oysters came with no drinks, water or plates. The waitress saw me looking at her at another table & yelled that she’d be over in a rude way. We asked for waters, drinks & plates & placed our orders. After being there almost an hour we got drinks, no waters. The bus boy brought out our food, our waitress never came back again, & we never got waters. Our crab cakes were gushy raw breading with zero flavor or seasoning, shrimp were not chilled like we ordered, & the fish was watery. Talk about a disappointing night that was supposed to be special. I would definitely NOT eat here unless you are sitting at the bar. Two in our party also got sick.
Our waiter, Chase was excellent, friendly and good humored. He offered suggestions when we had menu questions and was fast and efficient. A great selection on the menu, several options for those not wanting seafood. We sat outside next to the water where we have seen dolphins and flying fish several years ago. Red conch chowder was the best we have ever tasted. I got the fisherman's platter with 3 four ounce portions of grouper mahi mahi and salmon . All were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The meal came with two sides also, both were generous portions. This is the first time we've been back here since Hurricane Ian, and the remodeled building and outside patio have been expanded beautifully. We will be back!
Great food. Friendly staff. Even better atmosphere!!!! Check it out if you’re in the area.
We have had 2 wonderful experiences, thus far, at Yucatan Waterfront restaurant in #matlacha, Florida. Very accommodating, and kind/communicative staff; excellent seafood and other menu options; reasonable pricing; creative atmosphere; spectacular water view; --- what else can you ask for! We will be back, again soon!

Really enjoyed our visit. Food was delicious all around but the portion on the seafood pasta seemed small compared to its price.
We will definitely visit Yucatan Waterfront again.
The service staff was working very hard with a crowded restaurant. They deserve a raise or more help.
Loved the swings

I would rate 3.5 stars. The food is good, not great. The prices are higher than other waterfront restaurants. The atmosphere is very nice and right on the water. Indoor seating, limited outdoor seating. They do have a guy that plays music, but in the section where he plays, the seating is limited. Free valet parking is only in the parking lot. If it's full, you have to park on the road and cross traffic to get into the restaurant. Boat accessible, shallow water.

Drinks were a bit weak I will say, not much of a pour for the price!

Would not recommend this place. Went for the first time while visiting Cape Coral. Sad to say such a beautiful view with horrible service. Had a bad experience from the Valet, the staff at the entrance of the restaurant and our waiter was the worse. Oh not sure if one thing relates with the other but 20% tip is obligated on you bill , maybe explain why our waiter was rude and looked so miserable and I was talking to her.

We had reservations for 7:15. Seated immediately but waited 45 minutes for waitress to take drink order. The vodka martinis were mostly water. My dirty martini was water AND pickle juice; not olive juice. The drinks were made over. I drank my watered down martini but my friend sent hers back and got plain water instead. Another 45 minutes before we got our food. Looks like they definitely needed more servers. The food was good and the atmosphere was nice.

Great view. Great vibe. Waiter was good - a bit slow getting around to us. Mahi Mahi tacos disappointing. Almost rubbery. Key lime pie looked great. Not much key lime flavor or tartness.

Took some time for a host/ess to seat us, even though we were the only ones waiting. Once we were seated, we didn’t see our server for almost 20 mins. We asked what the ‘house wine’ was and she had no idea. She went to ask the bartender, which took another 5 mins and she came back with no real answer other than ‘one was sweeter than the other’. She took our drink order and we waited another 15 mins for our drinks, that were poured and sitting at the bar. The Sauvignon Blanc was terrible. We waited 10 mins for the server to return to let her know, before I finally got up and went to the bar to order something different. The food came very slow, and still no sign of our server. My sweet potato fries were ice cold and hard, I tried to find our server but finally gave up and just didn’t eat them. We were almost finished our meal before she came back and asked if we wanted dessert, she didn’t offer refills on our drinks once (a loss on the restaurants part because all 5 of us were drinking alcohol and would have had seconds). She didn’t even know what was on the dessert menu, she gave us two options, I asked about the key lime pie and got the response ‘oh yeah, that too’. Overall, it was one of the most disappointing outings I’ve had in the 3 weeks I’ve been in Florida. It came highly recommended, but our server completely ruined our experience.
