What a great spot in Little Havana for dinner!My friend and I were walking around Little Havana Thursday evening looking for a dinner spot when we walked by Old's Havana. A lot of restaurants were still kind of dead, but it looked pretty popping here, so we decided to give it a shot.We were able to walk in and get seated immediately a little before 7.The restaurant itself is a bit small, and tables are pushed close together, though I think there may be additional seating (patio perhaps?) in the back. The bar is beautiful, especially with the Coca Cola stained glass lights. I love the menu design as well, which has a very classic look to it.We started with a mojito, as they are a classic cocktail to get when in Miami. The classic mojito is $12.95, but our server recommended we try it with a more premium rum called Brugal 1888, so we ended up paying $18 for the mojito. It was the worst thing we had at this meal. While it was quite strong, it honestly didn't taste at all like a mojito... We were quite disappointed with the drink.For the food, I wanted to try different Cuban dishes other than vaca frita and ropa vieja, which are the classics, so we went with the masas de cerdo fritas ($13.95) and the picadillo a la habanera ($14.50). The former is fried pork chunks, while the latter is a ground beef stew cooked in a criolla sauce. We also shared a ceviche ($11.95).The ceviche was pretty standard. I appreciate that they give you a good amount of fish here. Of the two entrees, I preferred the picadillo a la habanera, which I thought was more moist and flavorful. I found the masas de cerdo fritas to be a bit on the dry side, but my friend liked this dish more, so I think it's a matter of personal preference.
