Our first visit to this eatery and not our last! The fresh and lightly battered fish and chips were reminders of the ones we enjoy back in our home state of NH! The accompanying onion rings were terrific, though the sweet cole slaw recipe could use some tweaking. Casual, warm atmosphere with super service! Our server, Ronnie, was great! Looking forward to our next visit!
We wanted to have lunch here. Dirt parking area. Came with our white service dog in a carrier. Hostess seated us on the patio, no problem. Ordered drinks. Some old hag came up to us and said the health dept required our dog be on a leash, on the floor. Their floor was dirty. We left. We had been in Melbourne Beach 3 days eating in fine dining and casual restaurants with our dog and never had an issue. And we were on the patio. BAD ATTITUDE!
My husband and I always have an excellent meal here this is the only place we have found outside of New England that have fried whole belly clams their always sweet and crispy and service is always great!
We were very satisfied with our meal here. We had an early lunch on the patio so it wasn’t very busy even though it was Saturday. My husband chose the place for the whole belly clams and he thought everything on the plate was great right down to the cocktail sauce. His sides were coleslaw and sweet potato fries and they were also good. (We are often disappointed by both of those items, so when they are good, it’s a real plus.). I had the Dubay pasta with shrimp and enjoyed it. I had some leftover and it reheated well, which often isn’t the case. We liked the music that was playing and appreciated that it was at a background level, not blaring. The decor is quirky and fun.
It is a sad day for my wife and I because New England Eatery is the closest restaurant to our house in south Brevard county, and one that has consistently been a good place for a meal. Our favorite dish is the fried oyster basket, and we normally order it with a side salad. Today, as in previous days we order the usual. Unfortunately, after eating three or four oysters, my wife got a bad one. There is nothing worse than the taste of a bad oyster. It made my wife sick as a dog long time ago at a dive restaurant, but we never thought we would experience it again at our local place. I don’t want to be unfair to the restaurant, but if the food you serve is rotten, it is definitely “shame on you”. A good chef would know right away how to spot, or smell, a bad oyster before cooking. Today, he failed to do so. For such a popular dish, I would have expected a little more quality control on the incoming oysters from the supplier. The service was good and the server apologize to us. She did offer to serve us something else but the meal was ruined. My wife did not feel like eating anything after that bite. So please button up New England Eatery. We want to be back with the confidence that our fried oysters will be delicious next time. Today’s strike was no good.
My wife and I are originally from the northeast . We found it hard to locate a place that serves whole belly clams fried . We ate lunch there this week and had the clams and also a cup of clam chowder. The meal came out quick . The food was excellent! The service was top notch . Waitress was very quick . We will be coming back for Sure !
Pass this place up. If you're going south on A1A keep going, do you get to sebastian? If you're going north, keep on going till you get to Melbourne Beach. I ordered pasta and a baked potato. I've had to eat again when I got home because my meal was so small. For fluff's sake, pasta and potatoes are cheap. You think they would want to fill you up?But no. I ordered a glass I've draft beer and it came in a small glass and was not filled up, nor was the beer cold. Forty dollars later, and I walked out hungry. This place used to be okay, no more though.
A quaint place with both indoor, and enclosed patio seating. The decor is very beachy, and skeleton pirates climbing the rigging in the patio is fun. We ordered both the bisque and clam chowder. The bisque was very good. I sensed a little dried tomato flavor - nice touch. Steamers were the champions of our trip. Good sized belly clams with long necks (always be sure to remove the sweater). The chowder was a bit salty, probably a little tilted towards potatoes in the potatoes to clam ratio (price saving measure?), and it was nice and thick. The calimaria appetizer was very good, lightly fried, but I'd have preferred a little more tentacles mixed in with the rings. The seasoned broccoli side didn’t have much seasoning. Sweat potato fries were good. The lobster Pasta Dubay had nice sized pieces of lobster, but the pasta was a bit watery - not sure if it wasn't drained completely or if the sauce was just a bit thin. The Nantucket Trio had good flavor in all three meats, and the sauce was great. No room for dessert, but I'd bet it's good too. We certainly had enough food for four meals, so our take out bag was full. On the second day, with about three tablespoons of additional butter added, the pasta was perfect. We had read both good and bad reviews, and spoke with friends (several from New England) who had visited in the last three months. Many of our friends said it was OK, certainly a little above average, but price was an issue. Toss in the 30 miles drive - much of which is 35MPH, and as the saying goes - just not enough 'spark of joy'. Perhaps we came with expectations that were a little too high, and while the restaurant didn't live up to those expectations (and I doubt we'll return), it's certainly a place that's worth visiting so you can come away with your own opinion.
this was our second time giving it another try. when we ordered our dinner it came out with grease on the plate. everything was extremely greasy. scallops had a funny taste and we're Brown. french fries were cold. when we told the waitress she gave us a dirty look. they upcharge a lot of the sides. and they even charge a dollar for drawn butter. needs to say this will be our last time.
I hosted a dinner party Saturday for my son and his family as well as two cousins from Palm Bay. We've been here a few times over the last couple of years despite it being an hour's drive from our home in Vero. From the lobster bisque to the fried oysters to the fish & chips, all was delicious. The drinks are a bit over priced if you order premium liquor but isn't everything these days. The ambience is "coastal dive" but the service was good. No reservations and it gets crowded early, before 6 pm.

Sorry to say this, but we did not have a good experience. I ordered the cod and it came out with absolutely no flavor whatsoever. They use no seasoning. There was no dressing on the Caesar salad and the potato seemed old.
Had a lunch there. Interesting place. Nice covered patio. Service was good. Had clam strips and chips, and fish nuggets and chips. Food was good. Good selection of beers and drinks. Lots of parking.

Great eatery with lots of seating that's not crowded together. The parking lot was full, but no wait. Service was excellent! Food was very good, just standard offerings. Would love to have had more local catch on the menu.
Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible for wheel chair patrons.

We enjoyed a delicious haddock fish fry, ice cold beer and wonderful service during our visit to this little gem of a restaurant. Will definitely be back❣️
