Awash Ethiopian Restaurant

Now now now… I’ve been craving Ethiopian food and was considering taking a trip just to meet my craving. But instead I punched in Ethiopian cuisine and located this place and it was VERY delicious and filling with many vegan options. I’m happy with this little trip to Awash.

10/10. SO good and everyone is so nice!!

Akram was an excellent host and a very knowledgeable young man regarding the history and culture of the nation. The restaurant doubles as a mini museum and I was taken on a little tour of the art, furniture and ceramic pieces common to Ethiopian culture as I waited for my meal. The flavor profile was right up my alley because I love spicy/flavorful food--it is both delicious and healthy. I highly recommend a glass of mint lemonade afterwards. It eally helps to refresh and settle the stomach. If you like Indian and African food you will find a happy marriage of the two at Awash🇪🇹🕊🌠

injera was sour, boiled egg was so overcooked the yolk was green/gray, and I threw up after… something was off with the food…

One of the better Ethiopian restaurants I’ve been to in any city. And the staff is super friendly. Highly recommend

My wife and I went here for the first time to celebrate my birthday and it was a beautiful experience. Ika and Akram were really great and the food was chef's kiss good! We ordered Lentil Sambusa, Ethiopian Salad, Taste of Awash (Vegan Combo), Lamb Tibs, Fresh Pineapple Juice, and Fresh Spris (fresh juice layered mixture) EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! Oh, and we also had the Oreo Cheesecake 😘 so good! Thank you Ika and Akram for the awesome birthday experience, we'll be back soon!

Really, really great food! The flavors were impeccable! The wait staff was so kind for offering to explain the menu, how to eat, etc. It was my first time trying Ethiopian food in general and it was greatly appreciated!

Having been born and raised in Ethiopia, I would say their food is good. However, I am only rating them 3/5 because their service was poor.

The waitress asked for our drink orders and it took 40 minutes before she brought our drinks. Fifteen minutes after she had asked for our drink order, I made eye contact with her because we hadn’t gotten our drinks yet, she ignored me and proceeded to clean surrounding tables for the next 20 minutes until I came to the counter and asked if we could please have our drinks. She made an excuse saying “I was going to bring you the drinks but we were waiting for ice.” First off, she could have communicated this at the beginning and said something instead of the 40 minute wait for drinks.

Our food was good. No complaints there. But it did take an hour and 15 minutes. Also, I noticed that other people who had arrived after us got their food in less time.

So overall, good food, but poor service. They can improve on this.

It's still an excellent Ethiopian restaurant, but I wish it were busier; we were only one of two tables tonight. The shopping plaza has several vacant retail spaces, making the location feel a bit sketchy, but the food is excellent, and the server is very nice.

They have moved to a digital menu, but the cell reception is so bad that you must log into their Wi-Fi to use it.

Recently discovered this place. SUPER RECOMMENDED.! the big plate to share was delicious. The meat flavors deli and also vegan option of the same plate.
