Sam and the woman server were polite and nice. The ginger basil sauce tasted good. Other than that my mother and I were disappointed with the food. The chicken was over cooked. The tofu was hard and was supposed to be the entree. Several Cubes of touch tofu were on a bed of lettuce. We were still hungry so we walked down main street and bought pizza.

Thai Café on Main Street isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a time machine. Nearly 30 years I’ve been coming here, and every visit feels like stepping into a memory I don’t want to let go of. This was the place of my first date. The kind of date where nerves get tangled in chopsticks, where the curry seemed hotter than the situation really was, and where I was supposed to be at my college assistant job but instead disappeared for three hours. When I finally rolled back in, it was a miracle I wasn’t fired. Maybe fate, maybe just good Thai karma.
To add to the drama, my car’s brakes didn’t work that night. I had to drive using the handbrake like I was auditioning for some low-budget Miami remake of Fast & Furious. And yet, somehow, we survived. Survived the car, survived the date, survived youth itself. Thai Café has been the backdrop to it all.
The food here? Legendary. The rolls are enormous—defying physics, wrapped tight, fried crisp, and still managing to taste light enough to trick you into ordering more. The satay hits with that peanut sauce that coats your soul as much as your tongue. The curries? They’ll ruin you for chain-restaurant Thai forever. And then there’s the Thai tea, sweet, orange, and perfect—the kind of drink you sip slowly, wishing it lasted just a little longer.
The view of Main Street out the window gives the whole place a postcard charm. Miami Lakes was built to be a suburban dream—quaint, walkable, a planned utopia that somehow managed to age gracefully. Sitting here with a plate of curry, you’re watching that dream still live.
The owner has known my family for decades. You walk in and it’s not just “another restaurant.” It’s continuity. It’s history. It’s community. That’s rare in Miami, where restaurants often vanish faster than a summer thunderstorm. But Thai Café remains, steady, enduring, and beloved.
So here’s the gospel: try the rolls. Try the satay. Try the curry. Say hi to the owner. Because this isn’t just food—it’s legend. And legends, if you’re lucky, stay with you for a lifetime.

Amazing Thai food first time trying this place out and wow wow wow were my taste buds happy. Our waitress Nikki was very attentive and very knowledgeable being that I'm not too familiar with Thai food. I had the vegetable soup and omg so goooooooood. Also tried out the Dragon Roll and volcano roll. A+ 9 out of 10

If you're looking for a consistently delightful dining experience in Miami Lakes, look no further than Thai Cafe. As a regular, I can confidently say that this place never disappoints. Whether I'm in the mood for flavorful curries, comforting soups, fresh sushi, or a sweet dessert to wrap up the meal, everything is always top-notch.
The owner, Sam, is an absolute gem. He's incredibly kind and always makes you feel welcome. You can tell that his passion for great food and excellent service shines through in everything the restaurant does. Sam's team truly embodies the spirit of collaboration—they're always friendly, helpful, and ready to make your experience memorable.
The ambiance is another standout feature. The decor beautifully reflects the owner's hometown in Thailand, transporting you to a serene and welcoming environment that complements the delicious food perfectly.

Came here with my girlfriend, from the moment i walked in i was greeted with calmness and cleanliness, it was a nice little peaceful environment. I did not expect much, but wow was i surprised and impressed with how good this food was, and the server was very kind and attentive.
We shared beef fried rice, dumplings, chicken skewers, and Thai doughnuts, we were also given a little charcoal grill on our table to cook our mean how we wanted, can you believe i only paid $48 for all of that! It’s unbelievable.
We spoke to the server and he told us they had been at that same location since the 80’s, goes to show how great of a restaurant they are, they have been there for over 30 years.
PS. You might really want to try their lemonade, it was so great, i don’t play about my lemonade.
We will be back soon

What happened to this place? Last time I was here over 10 years ago it was great…..and what a disappointing experience now. The sushi,to be fair, was good, but the atmosphere completely ruined by the smell an lack of finesse. The waiter was pleasant though.

I had been looking for a lemon grass soup for a while since my favorite Thai restaurant closed. It was on Miramar Pkwy just east of I-75. I was not expecting it to be as good as Thai Cafe but it supercided my expectations. I also had the crispy duck with a side of red curry. The owner Sam was awesome and very welcoming. The waitress Nicky was very natural and the way I like. I will be returning back as soon as possible. Thumbs up
