Much of the food was quite good. However, the cheese puffs (which we were looking forward to) arrived luke warm and stiff. Our server seemed more interested in other tables and we ended up reaching for our own bottle of wine from the nearby ice bucket several times or needing to seek him out. Otherwise, ambiance (outdoor seating) was perfect and much quieter than inside.
I didn't pay sufficient attention to the Buffet Only on Sundays; no a la carte ordering available. I had made reservations for outside and arrived on time. Was told that the wait for an outside table would be 30-40 minutes, so we agreed to an inside table, which turned out to be a comfortable booth. The music level was too high, inhibiting conversation around the booth table. The buffet was advertised as $98. per person, but somehow our total bill morphed to $500 for the three of us, two of whom had two drinks each. All the above is written in the context of Amara being one of two Miami favorites of mine, over many years of attendance, always outside and never before on Sunday. The place was packed, so the popularity of the Sunday Buffet is unquestionable. For me, though, both Amara and Open Table should have made it clearer what the limitations would be. It's also a mistake for a restaurant as excellent as Amara to book a reservation at a time certain and then not have a table available without a 30-40 minute wait.
First time here. Came for my birthday and had a great experience! So yummy & great water views!
I loved this place. Definitely will be returning. I tried the new pork ribs and they were great!
Exceptional everything!! Beautiful location, server was perfect! We had an unforgettable experience!
Happy hour and service at the bar was outstanding. We had reservations. After enjoying herself at the bar, we then went to our table. There was an open table next to the water. The hostess refused to give us the table claiming it was reserved. After being seated at another table, no one ever sat at the table by the water. Our waiter would disappear for long periods of time. The food portions were extremely small and way overpriced. Valet parking was $18 plus tax disgusting I would not recommend this place.
Bryan was amazing! The octopus was out of this world, a delicious hot sauce that was to die for and beautiful view.

Unfortunately, this lovely location with amazing food is severely lacking in service. The servers knew nothing about their menu or wine and I was pretty disappointed. The sommelier was outstanding however!! She saved the meal!!

Every single time I give their main dishes another try, I end up insanely disappointed. This place is great for drinks, the vibe, and appetizers — but don't waste your money on the tasteless, oversalted, and overall plain entrées. The flavors simply do not blend, and nothing feels thoughtfully executed. We were encouraged to order a shared dish, so we went with the Seafood Parrillada. The seafood sausage was aggressively salty, the fish was dry, and the shrimp and lobster were rubbery and chewy. There was just no flavor in general. Everything seemed to be grilled and then tossed with some onions and carrots on top — no seasoning, no depth, nothing special. Alongside that, we ordered the Prime NY Strip. Also a disappointment. It was absolutely tasteless, with no seasoning or richness at all, just the overpowering wood-burned flavor from the grill. The tuna carpaccio was another miss — a fatty slice of tuna served with heavily overdressed fennel, which made the entire dish taste heavy and greasy. Quite the opposite of what I would expect from something as delicate as tuna. Overall, come here for drinks and ambiance, but avoid the main dishes unless you're okay with bland, salty, and poorly prepared food.

Excellent all around. The food is delicious—don’t miss the grilled prawns. Service was top notch and Lenin made sure we had everything we needed. The location is perfect as well with a nice patio setting on the bay. We will be back!

We sat at the table for over 30 min before we flagged down a waiter and asked for service. Waited another 15 minutes before we had water. And another 20 min for drinks. The place was maybe 30% full considering its was only 6pm. We had 5:15pm reservation and didn't have food until 7pm. Expect to not have good service. This was our first and last time at this place. Not worth the hype or price.
Amara at Paraiso, great from beginning to end. Food, service and attention to detail always consistent... not to mention the gorgeous views from their terrace. Carolina Morales and Hector were outstanding. Can't wait to return!
