I don’t normally write reviews but left Aoko last night pleasantly surprised. I usually stick to my go to sushi spots but tried something new and thank goodness I did. This low key but still extremely elevated spot is a great spot for date night. Come dressed up or come as you are (I was in athleisure), the vibe lends itself to whatever you’re in the mood for!

The food was phenomenal and couldn’t believe they had cold soba noodles (Cha Soba Salad) on the menu… Miami has finally leveled up lol! I have to go to NY typically to get my fix of delicious cold soba noodles!

Now the service was also incredible-they allowed us to try a few sake options before we decided which was very generous. Servers are extremely kind and add to the vibe 100%. We showed up with no reservations and they kindly let us sit down. There are only few tables so a resi is recommended or come early.

Everything about this experience was 10/10 and this may be my new go to Friday spot! Miami, let’s keep these folks booked and busy because this is a gooood one. Need more authentic spots like this.

Oh and the matcha crème brûlée is also a must!!!!! Love it there. Thx goodness I live so close.

Price was also right ~$120 without tip for 2 and a bottle of sake is pretty unheard of these days. Quality of fish and everything was phenomenal.

wow! what an incredible experience here. We ordered two of the Nigiri Omakase. the chefs choice of the evenings included many select fish that we haven’t had at other places like striped jack fish. the fish was some of the freshest we have had in the area and the flavors were immaculate. very unique and perfect combinations! we sat at the bar to watch the action behind the scenes. we also had some hot tea and their matcha crème brule. 10 out of 10! highly recommend and will be back. this is now our favorite Omakase experience in miami.

What a gem! I walked in, solo, on a whim during lunchtime while I was running errands in the neighborhood. Right off the bat, I loved the welcoming vibe. I sat at the sushi counter and had the omakase, by Chef Tomo. Absolutely fantastic experience. He’s not just pumping things out, cookie cutter style. He takes note of your reactions to things and what your taste style is, and starts to tailor things as you go along. Also super friendly and fun to talk to!
The quality of the fish is A+++!! Fresh, fresh, fresh!
So happy I wandered in here. I’ll be a regular!

I’ve been to many omakase restaurants across the country and this is hands down the best experience I’ve ever had. Chef Daniel is truly exceptional. Every course was incredibly fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully executed. The flavors, textures, and presentation were next level.

You can tell Chef Daniel cares deeply about his craft. He walks you through each dish with passion and precision, making the entire experience feel both elevated and personal. The service was impeccable, the ambiance was intimate, and the attention to detail was on point.

If you’re in Miami and love sushi or fine dining, this is a must. It’s not just a meal, it’s an experience you’ll be thinking about long after you leave.

Recommended dishes: Omakase

Truffle Lover

We ate at the chefs counter and had the “off the menu” omakase which included an appetizer, a selection of nigiri, miso soup and a dessert. There’s no official sake pairing but the chef does give a recommendation. We love omakase and have it regularly. Chef Tomo is a delight and truly passionate about his menu. The nigiri was very fresh and was not served “plain”, but was topped with various ingredients or flame broiled. This gave some new flavors we had not been exposed to, some may say this is less traditional. However, it was delicious. The appetizer was so good, topped with uni, need I say more. The food and chef counter vibe were 5 stars no doubt. The front of house leaves a lot to be desired. They were on their phones most of the time, had no clue what sake was on the menu or what to recommend, unable to name the fish, weren’t working in a way that seems “high end” or with superior service, in fact they don’t seem to care about this job or restaurant at all which is sad since they are essentially the face of the place. There’s so much potential here.
