Just had a great sampling of five different tacos from chicken, steak, pork and shrimp! Kelly was our waiter, soon found out that he was actually the manager. Could not have been a better host. Walked us through a great sampling and then we added the spicy margarita to make the pairing perfect. He recommended some great spots to eat in the city and left with a new friend and great experience with outstanding tacos.

I always enjoy my time here. Ava acknowledges me as soon as I walk and lets me know of any specials they have and perfect menu knowledge. I have been going to bar taco for many years originally at the Tampa location. I was thrilled when I saw they opened one in wynwood now that I am local here. When Miguel first opened the location the service was spectacular. Very welcoming and pleasant people. I am very unsure what is going on but the last few months have been absolutely terrible with the service. Every time I go back I experience even worse service than before. I dinned in a couple months with my boyfriend and our drinks took over 30 minutes to come out. Our food was there and we had finished eating before getting our drinks. We didn't say anything because we assumed it was an off day and this is our favorite spot. So we came back a week later and ordered drinks, apps and tacos. My drink came out but my boyfriend’s didn’t. One of our friends joined us and ordered a drink and hers came out yet my boyfriend’s drink still hadn’t been delivered. We waited and waited and no one ever came to check on us. Finally I asked the manager “hey what’s going on with the service my boyfriend has be waiting over 30 minutes for a drink. This is getting ridiculous. We didn’t even get our chips and we just finished eating our tacos.” He said “I don’t know I’m the general manager I just came in to help because of a large party we have”. Not sure what kind of response that was we didn’t even get an apology. Finally his drink came out and we ordered another round. Drinks were still taking over 20 minutes to come out and they messed up the drinks. At this point we were very unhappy. No one checked on us or asked if we needed anything else. It was a hassle to even get someone’s attention. The restaurant both times was not even busy. Then yesterday was the last straw when we entered around 1:20am for margaritas and the hostess told us the bar is open for another 15 minutes. We sit at the bar and the bartender has cleaned and put everything way and said we can only order beer or shots. Excuse me?? It was 40 minutes til closing time and I couldn’t even get a drink. Ever since Miguel left this location everything has gone downhill. This is very disappointing to see and as someone who is a loyal customer to Bar Taco is it’s very upsetting that the service has gone downhill so much. We love the food and the drinks so much but every time we go in now our experience gets worse and worse. Definitely will not be coming back anytime soon which is very disappointing since I live just a few minutes away. I hope this review can push some changes at the restaurant so we can come back soon.

Great ambiance, amazing bite size dishes, and the Manager on Friday was superb (Shelvin I believe). The duck birria quesadilla is a new concept that was rich in flavor, and don’t sleep on the half chicken.
