Incredible experience at Café La Trova. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Libations were perfectly crafted and delicious. Our server, Isis, was amazing—warm, attentive, and made the evening feel extra special. The music and overall vibe were so fun and lively. Highly recommend!
I usually go there with a group of friends, but this time it was just me and one friend. The food and drinks were good, but there was a 20% service charge added that was not mentioned on the menu or in the reservation policy. This is very disappointing; the owner should not allow servers to automatically add a tip to the bill.
We ate very well and the musical entertainment was excellent.

Food time service excellent, food taste average, service average, you need to keep asking and don't follow up the table. Atmosphere great.

Food and drinks are both great. Guests danced along with the beautiful live music, this scene almost made me cry. I had a lovely night here

Unresolved prices. Food is ok, very home-feel cooking. Atmosphere is nice, it's more of a bar vibe however, the prices are very geared towards tourists and arehighlyy exaggerated

Food, cocktails, atmosphere -- it was all fantastic, just as expected based on other reviews. The live music was great and really amplified the energy and experience. Will definitely stop in again next time we are in town.

Such an incredible meal at cafe La trova. We went for happy hour and sat at the bar for two drinks and spinach empanadas which were delicious. The wait staff was very attentive but we never felt rushed

In a word, fun! Cafe La Trova is *the* spot for a quintessential night out on Calle Ocho with friends. You'll be listening to the sounds of an incredible (and loud!) band while enjoying some tasty drinks and Cuban food.
The way to go here is to focus on the appetizers and drinks. The mojitos were on point! Same with the empanadas, the croquettas (both ham/queso and mushroom were awesome!), and the ceviche (according to my friends).
The entrees were solid - good enough but I wouldn't say amazing. We had the lechon, skirt steak ropavieja and butterflied branzino and all were tasty. But the stars of the show were the appetizers, drinks and music, surely.
Our server was delightful- so helpful and so nice.
Can't wait for my next visit!

The best way to go here is to focus on the appetizers and drinks. The mojitos were on point! The same with the empanadas, the croquettes (the ham and cheese ones and the mushroom ones were amazing!) and the ceviche (according to my friends).
The mains were solid, good enough, but I wouldn't say amazing. We ordered suckling pig, Ropa Vieja skirt steak, and sliced branzino and they were all delicious. But the stars of the show were the appetizers, drinks and music, without a doubt.
Our waiter was lovely, very helpful and pleasant.
I can't wait for my next visit!

Excellent food, music, and service from Laura was wonderful. One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. A bit pricey, but worth it.

We were recommended Cafe La Trova by a local friend and had the BEST time! Our waitress gave us the best suggestions and we loved every single dish! The steak empanadas were to die for. We also got the special of the night which was a meat platter that came still cooking on a portable smoker. It was so phenomenal, we ate every bite! The vibes were so fun and lively, would definitely go back!!
